360 POA Gastrobar restaurant is a restaurant-bar complex structured with metal, glass and wood, and a distinctive single-object format. In other words, it is a cylindrical prism, whose appearance evokes the industrial architecture of the 1930s and 1940s, with the intention of almost ‘leaning’ on the waters of the lake that borders the historic center of the capital city of Rio Grande do Sul state, in the south of Brazil. The main structure encompasses the glassy large room, and depicts the technical kitchen and the machine house.

After their journey in Japan, a long friendship was reinforced by this passion and search for the most authentic ramen in Lisbon. Unlike other European countries, Ramen in Portugal was an unknown concept until a few years ago. The two friends weren’t satisfied with the existing Ramen on offer and decided to venture into their own project together.

The Art Space Gallery & Restaurant / ShapeUs studio

After one of the largest floods of the year in central Vietnam, our client approached us to help reimagine a damagedsite in Hoi An as a restaurant and gallery. Our design nurtures a new hub for the local community. Home to the first 3D-printed food in the country and new exhibitions of local artists, it is a space to look forward in a city that is steeped in heritage. Instead of writing over the historical identities ingrained in the existing French colonial building, we wanted to bring them to light, stripping away the ruined modern claddings to reveal the original structure. We placed new white walls to protect the base of the historic brick walls, whose revealed materiality becomes a part of the exhibit.

The architectural character of Manhattan is a palimpsest. As buildings are renovated and added to over centuries traces of each iteration remain, expressing themselves as an oddly placed column or a texture that bleeds through successive layers of paint. In the renovation of 329 Columbus Avenue to create Asset restaurant, we sought to excavate the existing space in search of unique textures and hints of the past that would enrich the guest experience.
