Tre de tutto Restaurant / STUDIOTAMAT

March 4, 2021 Paula Pintos 0

In the heart of Garbatella, STUDIOTAMAT transforms a historic neighbourhood bakery abandoned for years, postcode. in the capital’s trendy new Tre de tutto, whose name echoes the connection with the Roman tradition, with its three generous full-height custom designed arched windows, overlooks a square full of details and moldings made of modest materials, typical of the Roman Baroque — the style that embellishes the social housing typical of the area built in the 1920s. Here, under the arch adjacent to the restaurant, Nanni Moretti zipped through on a Vespa in his movie “Caro Diario” (“Dear Diary”). At the entrance, another tribute to the neighbourhood: “How beautiful Garbatella is!” reads a neon sign, inviting visitors and locals to enter.

Architect Monica Sanga and Japanese designer, Puddle Inc, collaborated to realize Dandelion Chocolate’s first permanent US cafe and retail space outside of San Francisco. Taking cues from the California-based small-batch bean-to-bar chocolate maker’s own process and products, the design team emphasized handcrafted details and honest use of materials to create an oasis of calm on the Las Vegas strip. The final result is an exquisite jewel-box, part retail store, and part café, that showcases Dandelion chocolate and serves hot chocolate, coffee, and pastries. Their Las Vegas expansion joins international locations including Taiwan and Japan and temporary pop-up locations previously in Los Angeles and New York City.

The attractive landscape of the coast, the operating mill and the rather affluent waterfall falling into the river became the basis of creative understanding of the author of the project. Factually, the architecture of the historic city type “ruins” with a synthesis of old and new materials was created on the landfill in a new district. Relaxing, entertaining and public catering multifunctional complex, ethno museum-restaurant was placed on a fairly large section along the river. The popularity of the facility and the originality of the solution led to create lots of facilities of such function along the river. This street was made and formed after that actually.

50% Cloud Artists Lounge Restaurant / CCD

January 21, 2021 罗靖琳 - Jinglin Luo 0

The restaurant is situated in a building named “50%Cloud”, which follows the design languages of red brick architectural complexes designed by Luo Xu while at the same time subtly incorporating Art Deco Style to maintain its own unique identity. Without a single steel bar or nail, this “utopia” built on red soil is completely composed of local red bricks and blends into nature.  The building looks like a mega art installation and half of a cloud that undulates in the sky. It features solid facades, curved contours, and volumes set at staggering heights.
