RAMA Restaurant / MMA

April 24, 2021 Andreas Luco 0

MMA designed a new Italian restaurant “RAMA” in a red building located on a back street off the main street in Shirogane. For a small restaurant with only nine seats, we designed a large curved counter in the center of the restaurant, where guests can sit in an arc around the kitchen. People passing by on the street can see through the large windows the conviviality of guests enjoying conversation with meals and drinks. It has become a part of the street’s landscape.

Garden Cafe / Steyn Studio + Meyer & Associates Architects + Square One Landscape Architects

April 20, 2021 Paula Pintos 0

A creative collaboration between London-based architects Steyn Studio and Square One Landscape Architects’ South African office has resulted in the effortless fusion between architecture and landscape, with gardens that wrap over new buildings, which in turn are woven back into the landscape with intricate trellis structures. It’s a subtle celebration of the Breedekloof Valley in South Africa’s Western Cape region’s rich cultural history and draws its inspiration from the San who first inhabited the valley and who were later joined by early Dutch settlers.

PERI is an internationally leading producer and provider of formwork and scaffolding systems. The family company’s head office with about 1600 employees is located in Weißenhorn (Ulm) in Southern Germany. The heart of the PERI Campus where office, exhibition, and factory buildings come together is newly defined by the PERI canteen, which opened in 2017. It has become a meeting point with a non-hierarchical and communicative atmosphere, which generates a restorative break for every employee, client, and visitor. In order to illustrate the company’s identity, the canteen transports the PERI values in a visual and haptic way through architecture, fixture, and design.

Margot Restaurant / Alfaro/Acevedo Arquitectura

April 5, 2021 Clara Ott 0

The work was conceived from a client’s premise: “farm-to-table”. From this concept and considering the characteristics of the garden neighborhood of the place, a simple typology was thought of, of unique and flexible space surrounded by nature. Where the dining room coexists in the central area, the open kitchen at one end and the bar at the other.
