Extension

This building is one of the main wings of the former Saint-Etienne arms factory. This industrial estate was built in 1864. It covers an area of twelve hectares to the north of the city centre. Designed in the spirit of the rationalist architecture of the 18th century, such as Claude Nicolas Ledoux’s saltworks or the Grand-Hornu near Mons, the factory is an industrial and military «palace» composed of white stone and red brick. It embodies the aesthetic ideal of an era intoxicated by the fortunes generated by the industrial revolution.

MOUT Venlo opened in the former building of the museum van Bommel van Dam. The building was vacated in 2017 when it did not meet the contemporary standards for a museum. With the design of Buro Moon, the museum transformed from an introverted exhibition space into an inviting park pavilion with a brewery, cafe, and food hall. The new central glass addition creates a remarkable entrance at the heart of the pavilion.

The project consists of the extension on the west corner of an existing house, located in the center of Bonvilliers, a small town in the French countryside.

This is a house extension and renovation project in Scheveningen, the old fishers’ town of Den Hague. The original house was tiny at best. It’s the last of a short row of small workers’ houses, in a side street to Scheveningen-center. The occupants loved the city and the surf but really needed some more space. The extension more than doubles the original house and is like a little gem hidden in the alleyway.

Garden-Office or Office-Garden. That was the basis for the renovation of the original room – 12 m², with a small window, two doors, and facing the front setback – that housed Oficina Cotí.

This outdoor living space on the exceptionally large plot in Nederweert separates the front yard from the back yard and the garden. The storage room was already there, but the residents wanted to create a comfortable outdoor area with enough space to eat together or throw a party.
