Less Delays, More Time to Design: An Online Payment Solution for Architects

May 4, 2022 Valeria Montjoy 0

Although some may question it, architecture is essentially a service industry. And like in all services, the process itself (meetings, invoices, payments) can be just as important as the end result (the finished project). At the end of the day, if you offer a coherent, efficient and well-structured service that complements a good design, clients will be satisfied and are likely to return. They will also spread the word and recommend the office, which is ultimately the best way for design professionals to build a good reputation and attract new customers.

Tachikawa ANNEX House / MDS

May 4, 2022 Hana Abdel 0

Details between House and Warehouse – The building is an annex to the main building we designed about 10 years ago as the corporate headquarters of a clothing maker and the owner’s house. The site stretches over several zones under different regulations, which led to different structure or height variations. Our choice, in contrast to the five-story RC main house which rose vertically, was to design a light wooden building in the widened area at the back of the site, in the category I exclusively low-rise residential zone.

Studio Other Spaces Designs Wine Tasting Pavilion in California

May 4, 2022 Andreea Cutieru 0

Studio Other Spaces, founded by artist Olafur Eliasson and architect Sebastian Behmann, envisioned a wine tasting pavilion for California wine producer The Donum Estate that weaves together various elements of the site in what the designers describe as a vertical panorama. The project essentializes a vertical cut through the landscape and the conditions that make for a thriving vineyard, proposing a holistic experience addressing all senses. The roof’s coloured glass tiles represent an abstract calendar depicting the yearly averages of parameters such as wind intensity, temperature and humidity.

Decompression Area: Ideas for Leisure and Rest Environments in the Office

Even before we got used to remote work, some offices were already concerned about the well-being of their teams and how to attract new talent to work in their physical spaces. In this context, the decompression rooms had already become fundamental parts of the architectural program to demonstrate that the company is concerned with encouraging people to live together, relieving everyday pressure and bringing moments of pleasure during the workday. Currently, when many have already returned to the offices, environments like this have become increasingly essential to ensure the well-being of the employee, as well as improve their performance.

Dune House / AToT – Arquitectos Todo Terreno

May 4, 2022 Pilar Caballero 0

The arrival at the pampas of the large horizontal plane that enters the sea generates an opposite effect, which is the presence of a dune that is implanted up to 1km above the coastal territory. In this sense, the presence of urbanization prevents the natural movement of sand, producing different problems along the coast that shorten the useful beach surface over time. In the case of Balneario Reta, the accumulation of sediments against the planted coastal forest produced, in a couple of decades, the growth of a dune that can reach up to 12 meters in height, generating a natural barrier that separates the town from the beach.

Enigma House / MEM Arquitectos

May 4, 2022 Andreas Luco 0

Enigma’s facade assembles a small-sized house, which is discovered to be bigger as you enter the same. A simple and noble architecture can be appreciated in the facade along with a trichromatic conjugation of plain white, gray quarry, and wood. The terrain has the peculiarity of being composed of a 6-meter front that opens 6 more meters on the opposite side, with a depth of 19 meters.
