The Wing of Swallow is located on the north bank of the middle section of Maozhou River in Baoan District, Shen Zhen. With the theme of children’s playground, it integrates various functions and landscape venues. It is a three-dimensional amusement park integrating amusement, rest and viewing.
New Ecological Axis-Jialing Pearl Riverside
Nanbu County, Nanchong is known as the “Second City of Chengdu-Chongqing Circle” in Sichuan.”A history of the south, the love of water through the ages”, for thousands of years, the water of the Jialing River has been rushing here, nourishing everything, and the people of northern Sichuan have thrived here and compose a glorious chapter. In the principle of respecting nature and advancing into the future, the design puts forward the concept of “Jialing Pearl, Brilliant Riverside”. It introduces the Jialing River water into the site to create Nanbu Shuicheng where the city is on the water and the water is in the city, creating a closer and intuitive experience for people’s water activities.
The Suspended Pavilion is located on the Bank of Maozhou River in Bao’an District, Shen Zhen. The original site is cut into two landscape zones by a transverse embankment top road, one near the water bank, the other a low-lying green space. The design takes the integration of context as the starting point to create a large landscape system of architectural landscape integration. The north side of the embankment road was originally a low-lying green space. Through the concept of sponge city, it is supposed to connect the low-lying green space and create an ecological rainwater wetland. Through the linkage of the water system on rainy days, the collected rainwater can freely infiltrate into the land, replenish the groundwater and increase the catchment area. In the low-lying wetland, aquatic plants and water-resistant trees are planted to form a characteristic landscape environment.
PG&E Substations at Embarcadero and Potrero. PG&E’s earlier tradition of memorable urban substations which contribute to the fabric of the city is being revived. Two new buildings, one at Embarcadero and one at Potrero, have this goal. Both augment the existing substations they are adjacent to. They are set back 30’ from the sidewalk to create public plazas. Their facades unfold onto the plazas and invite habitation.
The Faculty of Fine Arts decides to occupy the old buildings of the University’s engineering school, made up of three disparate buildings from different periods, each of them with a free and autonomous design, which have generated an organization of voids occupied by roofs and facilities, offering a desolate appearance. In contrast, there is the intense use by students, which due to its decadent semblance is a sign of inspiration and creativity.
The new Šibenik main square with archaeological park and a garage / logistics centre underneath is designed as an integrated urban, social and infrastractural field setting an open dialogue between the medieval, modern and contemporary city, creating a vast community of astonishing potential that holds the sky aloft.
The South Yard, namely a southern courtyard, is located in Sanjia, Yangshan Village, Guling Town, Mashan County, Nanning, Guangxi Province. Through ages, this tranquil and plain village has been settled by three clans: Huang, Liang and Tang, thus named Sanjia (Three Surnames). The unparalleled Karst Landform surrounds the village, forming a green barrier naturally. In the bottom of mountains, a brooklet flows slowly through the village, with children swimming and housewives washing vegetables and clothes beside it. The melodious sound of three-part folk music comes from far away, attractive and pleasant to the ear.
In Bastia, Corsica’s second largest city on the north-east coast, Dietmar Feichtinger Architectes achieved the promenade Aldilonda, which means “Above the Sea” in Corsican with local architects Buzzo Spinelli, Insitu landscape and the engineers of Sbp France.
In Mantes-la-Jolie (Yvelines), the intervention area of the operation is located near major neighborhood shops (supermarket, fast food, and cinema) but also a recent project that has changed the appearance of this space. The latter, in the continuity of the supermarket, enlarges the perspective of the place Henri Dunant and now highlights the house of the sub-prefect. Today, the parking lot is in the heart of this square and the public spaces are separate.
Situated at the coast of Yantian in the eastern part of Shenzhen, the 19.5 km long Yantian Waterfront Boardwalk is the most famous waterfront for the spectacular ocean views. It is a reconstruction project after the hit of Super Typhoon Mangkhut in 2018, which is the strongest typhoon hitting Shenzhen since 1983, reaching Beaufort scale level 14, brought devastating destruction to the existing boardwalk.
