Beef Club is the radical refresh of a beloved eatery in Autostadt, the automotive theme park at the headquarters of Volkswagen Group in Wolfsburg. The new design offers two different dining rooms for different kinds of atmospheres: a joyful social area in the front that overlooks an outdoor terrace and an elegant private area in the rear where small groups can gather for celebrations or more confidential meals. At the center of the pub is the theatrical preparation of food on a grill – the menu of Beef Club features both grilled meats and vegetables. An open brick fireplace is located where everyone can see it, recalling the power of an archaic fire at the center of a shared dining experience.

The Barcelona-based architecture firm External Reference, led by Italian PhD architect Carmelo Zappulla, has been commissioned to design CAAA by Pietro Catalano, the second restaurant of acclaimed chef Pietro Catalano. Situated in Lucerne, Switzerland, the space provides an exclusive experience merging gastronomy, design, and technology. The collaboration between Zappulla and Catalano showcases an avant-garde design, narrating a tale of craftsmanship and establishing the ambiance for a distinctive gastronomic experience that engages all senses. Drawing inspiration from the rich culinary traditions of the transalpine region and from the landscape itself, External Reference crafted an interior that pays homage to the magnificence of the Alps. Spanning 85 m2 and accommodating up to 16 diners, the restaurant`s dining area is characterized by a dominant white color palette.

Sebastian Rossbach and Marco Barth have opened their pizzeria 22k in the venerable halls of Peter Behrens’ tobacco factory, built in 1925-39 as Austria’s first steel skeleton building in the New Objectivity style. The two award-winning chefs (Rossbarth restaurant, also designed by destilat) are opening a casual culinary playground in the “Falk building” of the radically functionalist industrial building and the interior design should be just as cool.

A Tale of Buckwheat, “Memil Danpyeon” – Buckwheat is one of the grains that receive scant mention in Korean literature, which predominantly centers on aristocrats. This is because its unsophisticated character was often associated with a rustic flavor. However, due to its robust vitality, the buckwheat stood out as a cherished staple, enabling commoners to endure harsh winter and hardship in the past.

303 Shirahama Italian / Roito Inc.

May 21, 2024 Hana Abdel 0

“303” is an Italian restaurant in Shirahama town, with a picturesque view of Engetsu Island, a symbolic attraction in Wakayama prefecture, Japan. Originally, it was refurbished from a guest house once operated by the client’s family. Shirahama boasts the most stunning beach in the Kansai region, where visitors can immerse themselves in a landscape seamlessly blending with the sea. The town lies gracefully along the coastline, reflecting a deep connection between its residents and the ocean. This local affinity with the sea inspired my design approach.
