Rabbit Habit Bar / YOD Group

September 24, 2020 Andreas Luco 0

The venue is located in the central Kyiv, in the basement of the building erected in the early XX century. The low ceiling was one of the main challenges of the project. Designers decided not to make it lower, but arrange the air-conditioning system inside the pipes with quite a small diameter under the ceiling. Cone lamps above tables were made from the same kind of pipes. The restaurant consists of two halls with a bar counter in each of them. Visitors can observe a cooking process in the open kitchen.

This is a newly built yakitori joint built near a small quiet station. Due to its random location, there was a possibility that the restaurant would become ‘invisible’ to the eye of potential customers if I didn’t get this right.

The most appetizing showcase opened in Porto, Portugal. Castro – Atelier de Pastéis de Nata, is the new destination on Rua Mouzinho da Silveira where you can find a homemade custard tart, coming out of the oven all day long. The premises are entirely dedicated to this Portuguese pastry specialty, with a signature recipe created by pastry chef Daniel Seixas. The entire process is done in sight of customers. It all starts with the preparation of the puff pastry, which is then placed in the molds, and also of the cream, with the mixture of eggs and milk. Only afterwards does it bake in the oven and later arrive at the display window. The pastries are crispy, both hot and cold. The 24h maturated filling for the dedicated and smooth consistency; the crispy outside and the perfect cooking are only some of the characteristics that make Castro “pastéis de nata” a wonderful indulgency.

Studio Arthur Casas always intends to create a new world within each project, considering users as the center of the experience. Unleash new perceptions, feelings and connections through materiality, lighting, color, and texture is the essence of our design. In our proposal for Kosushi Restaurant, located in Miami, these elements had a key role in the project’s development, creating an atmosphere capable of offering to customers the complete experience of a Japanese vernacular architecture combined with contemporary references.

Located at a commercial area in Setrasari, Bandung, this project is converted from a four storey shop-house. The challenge is how to design a space that doesn’t have a shop-house feel in it. And as usual, time and budget are also included in the design constraint.
