They are five right-angle triangular buildings made of glass blocks and framed by wood. The perimeter of each building is 8 x 8 x 11.31 m. The combined area of ​​​​the five buildings (two floors, including corridors) is 310 sq. m. The walking path around the project, including the reception area and the waterfront balcony, is 640 sq. m. The total functional area is 950 sq. m. Bordering the bank of the Chao Phraya River in Ban Run District, Ayutthaya, the five glass block buildings are sparkling under the light all day and night.

This is a project for a porcelain manufacturer Saikai Toki located in Hasami, Nagasaki, Japan, a well-known town for its pottery production. “COYANE” restaurant was constructed in the site adjacent to “ÔYANE”, a multi-purpose space for the manufacturer’s shop & gallery, which was also designed by ourselves and was opened in 2016.

The configuration of the project was born from the intention to generate a simple volume with a pure orthogonal stroke. A monolith, that thanks to its materiality, its textures, and landscape, could represent the unique environment in which it is located.

A tribute to the essence of the Costa Smeralda. “Architecture is lived in while art is looked at; this is a fundamental difference. Architecture is a physical and sensory experience because you go inside it.” Ettore Sottsass. What is the Costa Smeralda, what does its essence consist of? This was the first question we asked ourselves. When we think of this part of Sardinia, we think of granite rocks shaped by the wind. The curving materiality of the granite is warmed by the sunlight and by the reflections of the crystal-clear sea and interacts with the lush greens of the Mediterranean scrub.

“We are not a bistro or just another sushi bar—we are Izakaya.” The assigned task was to create a distinctive Japanese style establishment, tailor made to meet Martin and Margita’s ideas. The concept is located on Průchodní, a short street right in the historic centre of Brno that resembles narrow streets of Tokyo.

The restaurant is located within a shopping and financial district in Zapopan, Jalisco, near the city of Guadalajara, Mexico. The objective of the project was to implement the aesthetic and architectural identity of a business with almost 3 decades of history and a rooted culture of artisanal products and processes. Throughout the last 26 years, La Tequila has made itself a reputation as the city’s premier destination for Mexican cuisine and, as such, it has built a strong sense of identity that we were tasked with preserving.
