Lyngdal Healthcare Is Playing an Active Role in The Neighborhood. Lyngdal Healthcare Centre, in southern Norway, lets the elderly ‘stay in the loop’ as an integral part of society. Designed by 3RW Arkitekter and NORD Architects, the care home offers a vision in which social interaction, comfort, and well-being among residents, visitors, and staff are key to delivering welfare.

This early Georgian city center building has undergone extensive renovation to create a sustainable contemporary home in the heart of Dublin city. The majority of the building was destroyed in a fire in the 1980’s with most of the original features eradicated, leaving only the original front facade and party wall. The design intent was to work with the existing fabric as much as possible. The existing structural beams and posts were retained, and the brick party wall was exposed. At the front façade, the damaged cement pebble dash render was removed, and sliding sash windows were reinstated.

The Proposal is presented as the spatial and programmatic restructuring of the first dwelling developed by the IAA Gonzalo Iturriaga Arquitectos office. 8 years after the execution of this dwelling, the change of owners and, as a result, new spatial, material, and order approaches were part of the requirements delivered for the development of the project.

Casa do Limoeiro is a summer house located in a small village on the Costa Vicentina. The rehabilitation of this century-old abandoned house brought to light the dichotomous discussion between tradition and contemporaneity. The challenge was clearly how to build with simple, indigenous materials that are traditionally present in the local culture, adapting them to the new challenges of contemporary living.

The private kindergarten is a unique addition to the larger 44 ha development known as “Uogu slenis.” The placement of the kindergarten next to a Baltic forest accentuated by birches and pine trees creates an exceptional learning environment for children. The design of the building and the surrounding environment is aimed at fostering the children’s curiosity, creativity, and love for nature.

Built on top of a commercial space with a central structural pillar, a cross-shaped modulation was proposed to generate the four spaces requested by the client. The division was generated through low and thick walls made of steel structures, which were covered with rectangular clay tiles. These walls allowed for embedding bookshelves and storage areas due to their ample depth. At the top of these walls, clear glass was placed to allow light to pass from the windows facing the exterior to the more secluded spaces. The fronts of the office spaces and conference room were generated through wooden frames and textured glass partitions to provide the necessary privacy without interrupting the entry of natural light. The entrance hall greets the user with a wall covered in natural stone from petrified roots, which reminds us of the company’s essence and its sustainable commitment to the environment.

It’s not a garage! A common garage door accompanied in the composition by a round hole is what we find on the main façade and the truth is that it does not clarify at all how the building works, nor what is its use or program. The reality is that behind the door there is a family house between party walls located in Ciutadella, on the island of Menorca.

Enveloped in contrasting tones of Nakamoto Forestry’s shou sugi ban siding, SVART HUS features two well-situated, well-appointed boxes that cleverly separate the living and sleeping spaces, both physically and visually. With clean lines and natural materials that will continuously evolve in tone and texture, SVART HUS lives in harmony with the land on which it sits: 5 open acres of meadow and pine forest in Door County, Wisconsin.

In the highest part of the northern zone of Oaxaca City, next to an ecological reserve, is the Casa del Alma, considered the last refuge of our client, a person who has worked and traveled throughout his life. One dream arises from these trips: “A man lost in the desert, where the dying protagonist finds a red tree for shelter, approaches and hugs him so that he finally joins him in his shadow”
