Mind the gap, appearing massively with concrete facade impression interspersed with lines on the fence and the walls with gaps. Visually, the gaps become the analogy for pause, breathing, and release. The gaps function as the entrance for direct sunlight and air to circulate and also reduce surrounding noise.

A two-storey terrace house addition sought to transform something familiar into a captivating architectural hybrid. An unsuspecting terrace house presents to the street, while a shiny silver volume plays peek-a-boo with the rear lane: Silver Back. Designed for a young family to grow within, Silver Back is a haven in the vibrant suburb of Marrickville.

A blooming garden in the concrete jungle where to rest, enjoy with friends and family and foster your health and mind. Creating a nourishing and refreshing space was the main task when designing the space. The use of warm materials such as wood and stucco, combined with the lush greeneries everywhere, creates a tropical and almost alive environment.

The design concept was to create a space that resembles a catwalk for the female resident who has a special interest in fashion and is a dear friend of the architect. The catwalk starts from ground level at the stair in the living room, then up and wraps the atrium at each floor to the top level where daylight shines through the five “tropical boxes” (0.9 m cube, described further in a later paragraph) on the roof.

How can a house tell a story? Verdure House can do well. Because every configuration in this house is intended to allow residents to tell many stories and share their experiences at each meeting. This house stands on the side of a shady street in Bandung. Throughout the year, the surrounding environment is a combination of a calm ambiance, lush trees, and cool air. This house has a fairly large plot of land and maximizes the function of each area for the comfort of all residents.
