T-Roof is characteristic of three roofs as shown in the name of it. Vertically separated mass in consideration of the scale of the existing city has been finalized with the same materials with an external wall in consideration of how the roof was regarded as one particular front view in the importance as a landscape shown from a high-rising office nearby.

This is a reconstruction plan for the flagship store in its birthplace. Under the concept of “crossing of time,” we pursued a plan to renew the building while preserving and integrating elements of the bombed former building with modern design. The concept of “crossing of space” is materialized by enabling visitors to encounter the natural environment of Hygge* Park after passing through the bustling arcade town and bakery market reminiscent of Denmark. The “crossing of people” is created by the gate-shaped structure itself that forms the interior. The crossings are represented by cross-shaped pillars. *Hygge: Danish word meaning a warm and cozy feeling arising from human interaction

Noid House is a house that applies the concept of Continuous Void. This concept comes from the background of a client who has a large land area of 23 x 8. However, the client does not want to use the total land, and wants a house that is compact and functional in terms of space, as well as according to needs and has a large open space. Then with the concept of a compact space, the client still wants the existence of voids that can as a whole have a compact house but still have voids that can connect interactions between floors in the house. With this background, the architect then placed the void right in the middle of the building. Indirectly, this void then divides the building into two and creates space zoning.
Two separate outmoded buildings were used for decades before this new child and family center arrived in Mulgrave, Melbourne. One built around the 1960s was used by preschool children (ages three and four), while the 1930s building, once a detached house, focused on maternal health. But with new families with younger children settling into the area, it was time for the City of Monash, to look to the future. Designed by AOA Christopher Peck, the new child and family center not only embraces the corner site but was conceived around two established eucalypts, one now a focus of the center.
Zvonica House is a reconstruction of a typical Slovak square-shaped house from the 1950s. Over the years, the original house has gradually undergone several renovations, including some non-conceptual extensions. The aim of the current intervention was to clean up the interior space, find new spatial and functional links and create an environment that would respond to the needs of the eclectic life of a young multi-member family. The exterior of the house was practically unchanged at the request of the investor, the proposal focuses mainly on the solution of the interior spaces.
The Hwaseong Coffee Culture Center is a public facility located in a neighborhood park in Bongdam New Town. It is a facility for the elderly, whose demand is rapidly increasing in the aging modern society. The center provides programs that support the re-employment education, and cultural and leisure activities of the elderly through coffee, as well as support the economic activities of the elderly, such as the Nono Cafe, one of Hwaseong City’s representative participatory welfare projects for the elderly. This unique type of small public facility is three-dimensionally combined with an educational space, a space for the elderly, a neighborhood facility, and a public workspace.
Finnish Design Shop is the world’s largest online store of Nordic design. The company’s fast growth accelerated during the pandemic, as physical stores needed to close their doors. The new building, the headquarters of the company, comprises a logistics center delivering products to over one hundred countries, a showroom, and a restaurant.
In 2018 KIRK was engaged by NIOA to investigate options for additional office space, in a short period of time, to accommodate a rapidly expanding workforce. The NIOA Timber Tower is an experimental project that is the first non-residential commercial building in Australia to use locally grown and manufactured Mass Engineered Timber. The 5-level structure was erected in less than a month and the building, including the integrated fit-out for up to 100 staff, saw completion within 7 months.
A holiday house with a garage designed in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. As the owner has plans to build a house nearby, this is a place for displaying his cars and enjoying his leisure time. With the owner’s request for sufficient parking space, we decided to use the whole site as a building with enough room for the cars to turn around easily.
