March 11, 2019 Andreas Luco 0

N House was designed to serve leisure so that the owners could comfortably welcome their guests. Large windows allows a nice view into the existing vegetation and decrease the need for artificial lighting. The straight lines and well-defined volumes use natural materials, such as stone and wood, to generate a dialogue with the context.

Zoning setbacks and tree protection rules quickly eliminated the option to build a separate structure, resulting in a building addition that juxtaposes a typical Austin house with a fresh new form.

Settled into the rolling hills of California’s Alexander Valley, a new winery under the Silver Oak label cuts through the land with the low profile of dark, minimal, gabled forms. Designed by the San Francisco firm Piechota Architecture, the nearly-net-zero-water tasting room and production facility reference the dominant barn form in the area, here reduced to its simplest clarity.

March 7, 2019 Andreas Luco 0

Pettanco House 2 is the second Pettanco and the first Pettanco is built four years ago on another place. Pettanco house 2 is located in Chino, Nagano, deep in the region referred to as the Japanese Alps. Surrounded by mountains the site is also provided with many rivers. The client is a landscape designer, in addition to the spaces of the house his special request was a workshop space to prepare his works. As he liked the system of Pettanco House 1, we decided to customize it. All to be achieved within the constraints of an efficient budget, so we kept a low height and simple shape in mind.

March 7, 2019 Andreas Luco 0

Inspired by the simple and prevalent image of wood docks found along the edges of the Muskoka lakes, the boathouse was conceived as a series of planar elements that slide past one another. The slippage of planes echoing the movement of water as it shifts course.
