Private Apartment in Milan / untitled architecture

May 28, 2019 Andreas Luco 0

The apartment, located in the attic of an old residential building in Milan, was originally a small, compartmentalised, dark space. The project was designed in order to expand the interior space and change its perception by reshaping the existing geometry and increasing the amount of natural light. The layout of the apartment is based on a cruciform plan with four distinguished areas – kitchen, bathroom, living and working spaces, all gathered around the central element – the stainless steel column. The bedroom is located on the mezzanine floor, forming the unique geometrical block with the bathroom underneath.

The ‘BEG’ house is located on the shores of Lake Riñihue, Los Ríos Region, Chile. The general starting point of this house arises from the spatial, lighting and climatic conditions of the location. The imposing presence of nature defines the views, which are prioritized in all the main spaces, which open to the south towards the lake and the Andes Mountains.

House Behind the Wall / Mjölk architects

It all started with our clients’ purchase of a house over a hundred years old. The traditional building with a gable roof was at its end. Its stone basement was still in a good condition so we decided to take down the rest of the house and use the stone socle in the basement as a foundation for the new house. Our courageous and somewhat risky plan worked out and today, the clients live in a beautiful, modern house which combines the historical soul of its predecessor and nordic esthetics with a touch of industrial style. What can we say? The road to success is not always an easy one but it’s worth it to put in a little extra effort.

Regent St. House / Smart Design Studio

May 28, 2019 Andreas Luco 0

The transformation at Regent has a lot to do with light. The house was laid out in a traditional Victorian format with characteristically dark front rooms. A skylight now spans the length of the kitchen, and the formal rooms open onto the airy new combined living space. A double height light reveal floods the dining room and boys’ room above with additional light.

The Élysée Montmartre / Studio Combo

May 25, 2019 Andreas Luco 0

The ElysÈe Montmartre burned in 2011, the fire being very significant, nothing could be preserved from the existing building, it was necessary to completely demolish the building, except for the classified facades which were preserved. The construction site was complicated since the ElysÈe is located on former quarries, major special foundation work was necessary.

Casa Guerrero / TACHER ARQUITECTOS

The project is a two-floor single-family residence located in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico. It is formed by two volumes that formally separate the social and service areas from the private areas. The house as a whole generates a contrast of volumes and materials between the ground floor and the top floor. The leading premise of the project is to create spaces that are well oriented and private by using patios and functional and aesthetic architectural elements.
