The 10th China Flower Expo is held in Chongming, Shanghai on May 21st, 2021, Century Pavilion, which is one of the main venues, is themed at “Butterfly and Flower”. As an earth-sheltered landscape architecture spanning over 280 meters, Century Pavilion created the biggest free boundary continuous arch concrete shell all over the nation, and also realized the idea of the ecological expo with the fully utilizing climatic resources,to celebrate this flourishing and harmonious age.

Culverden circa 1900 takes advantage of Mount Stuart’s elevation and aspect. Orienting away from the street, towards Hobart and the Derwent River it occupies a large allotment with an expansive private garden. Culverden displays typical features of its federation italianate style: asymmetry, a narrow two storey square entry tower and a timber verandah detailed with filigree iron balustrade. The house is red brick with a sandstone base, complete with tall corralled brick chimneys with glazed chimney pots.

Zebros Farm / Martins Architecture Office

The project is about the renovation of a farmhouse initially conceived to host monks in the XIII century. The house has been in same family since XIX century serving several purposes, inter alia, as agricultural workers house and residency of its ultimate owner, who conducted a material refurbishment in the 90’s. At the research we realize that parts of the house were transformed into a succession of habitable areas without a structured typology. The site still defines itself with patterns of wine production and agriculture in general.

The two homes, now known as Puppeteers House, are part of a series of buildings that were originally built for a local puppeteer’s family, but had more recently been used as storage for farming

Camp Spirit Lake / Amy Carman Design + Vetter Architects

Camp Spirit Lake is a modern guest lodge located within this Chicago family’s multi-acre compound in Wisconsin’s scenic Northwoods. Surrounded by a forest of oaks and white pines, the home is perched on a bluff overlooking a pristine lake the family has been visiting for generations. It is part of a larger generational family retreat consisting of a main house, an artist studio, and two boathouses. Rooted into the hilltop, the new guest lodge captures views of Spirit Lake, while respecting the scale of the new boathouse below.
