The project brings together the mathematics, statistics, and computer science departments, building community among the 3000 students, faculty, and staff. Realized as a vertical campus.

The University has fully opened its 75,000 m2 addition to the Belfast Campus in the city’s cultural district. This location is at the interface of Belfast’s neglected and still-divided communities, and within walking distance of the economic drivers in the city core and harbor. ‘This project puts the University in the heart of the intractable issues haunting Northern Ireland’s growth, prosperity and identity’ said Duncan Morrow, Lecturer and Community Outreach Director at the University. ‘Education remains a critical path to a better future. This campus, as it twists and turns in the city, is designed to make Higher Education accessible to all.

New Educational Building for Semmelweis University – Faculty of Health Sciences / Studio Fragment

Sol omnibus lucet – The Sun shines for all. Semmelweis University is a leading institution of higher education in Hungary and the Central European region within the area of medicine and health sciences. In 2016 the Faculty of Health Sciences launched a design competition for an extension to a locally listed educational building dated from the early 1900s. The aim was to create seminar rooms, demonstration rooms, and 2 large lecture halls. The open competition was won by Studio Fragment. The site stretches between two streets in the so-called „palace quarter” of Budapest. The neighborhood contains palatial maisons, as well as important cultural and educational institutions mainly built in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

The Student Learning and Activity Center (SLAC) of Wenzhou-Kean University occupies the most prominent spot on campus—standing in the center of the main¬¬ axis and interfacing between academic and living quarters. The light, transparent structure also offers an unparalleled view of the central lake. As a distinct landmark and symbol of the university’s ethos, the building houses such diverse functions as its vibrant activity center and the tranquil library, reflecting the transformation and evolution of learning spaces and empowering it as the central hub of student life.

Lehigh University Singleton, Hitch, and Maida Residential Houses / Sasaki

In 2016, Sasaki began working with Lehigh University to transform the student residential experience on campus. After identifying a long-term strategy for renovating existing housing, taking outdated buildings offline, and adding capacity to support the school’s growth, the school, and the design team identified what was missing on campus: hangout and group study spaces and a “bridge” typology that offers more privacy than a traditional dormitory but more community than apartment-style housing.
