The site lies in the center of Jakarta, sandwiched between buildings in the middle of a dense neighborhood. It’s a gem so hidden that you can only reach it via a secret entrance to a private residence. Surrounded by concrete jungle in the tropical city, the location is heavily affected by the urban heat island effect. This unbearable heat also increases year by year due to global warming. With these problems in mind, the architects designed a solution that works with the climate. An environmentally friendly yet comfortable haven, built using local materials with simple techniques by local hands.

Apple Brompton Road, another close collaboration between Apple and Foster + Partners, is now open. The new Knightsbridge store is situated between high-end department stores Harrods and Harvey Nichols. It is flooded with natural light from floor-to-ceiling arched windows.

The project starts with the aim proposed by Mango to develop the space identity for its new Mango Teen shops in collaboration with its internal team. Previously, Mango’s team already had developed a series of pop-ups to test several parameters for its new design. Amongst them, the use of color was highlighted as one of the most relevant in their temporary stores. On the other side in the briefing, it was specified that the store needed to have a high experiential and interactive attraction. 

Following a collaboration that began in 2018 between DCA Milan and the Kriemler brothers for the development of a new Store Concept, the first AKRIS prototype store opened in Washington DC. AKRIS is an international fashion house founded in Saint Gallen, Switzerland in 1922, its name is an acronym of Alice Kriemler– Schoch, the company’s founder. Ownership has since passed down the family and is now in the hands of the founder’s grandchildren, Albert and Peter Kriemler.

The Q-factor store is located at No. 1, Lane 34, Xiangyang North Road, Jing’an District, Shanghai. The project along the street is part of a historically protected red-brick building. In consideration to protect this historic building, we were cautious when thinking about the project. There are a few considerations to think about. First, the architect’s goal is to protect the historic building while providing design updates to the current store facade. Second, to provide an interesting space with the limitation that the walls, floors, doors, and windows on the second floor cannot be altered.

Langham Beauty Galleria located in Langham Place, Mongkok, Hong Kong, is a 2000 sqm beauty hall. Occupying 2 levels the beauty hall operates as a platform for a range of beauty vendors, rotational events, and pop-ups. Unlike traditional beauty halls, the spatial identity of Langham Beauty evokes a return to nature, and one’s natural radiance. This is represented in the organic rhythm of the timber ceiling fins, undulating radiating trees, a truth in materiality, and ephemeral light.

Bread has always been more than just dough. So why not celebrate its sale and production? Instead of following traditional concepts of bakery aesthetics, this project focused on an honest emphasis on its essential ingredients: space and baked goods. Situated slightly off the main commercial streets of central Athens, the initial space offered an unusually elevated and recessed terrace space.
