Even though the site is situated in a suburb, is a more populated area than the surrounding neighborhoods. A train station, apartments, a market, and schools are located nearby. “Mom’s Garden” is sitting on the outskirts of the town center where single-story shops are scattered along the three-lane road, creating a tranquil street scene.
The desire to enhance the qualities of an already suggestive space makes this project an ambitious challenge. To achieve this, the intervention is reduced to three gestures whose conceptual load allows the space to be understood in a certain way.

“Demolishing is a decision of easiness and short term,”said Anne Lacaton. “It is a waste of many things – a waste of energy, a waste of material, and a waste of history.” The sense of life in architecture lies in the duration of time, which is closely related to the usage scenario. However, buildings also have their own life cycle, whether it is the decline of the building’s own functions, changes in social demands, or new requirements by local policies, all of which become opportunities for old buildings to be rejuvenated.
The project began with a plan to create a flagship store for the original eyewear brand “Kearny” in the backstreet connecting Harajuku to Shibuya in Tokyo. The concept of this project is inspired by residential neighborhoods. The site is located within a part of a residential neighborhood that suddenly appears in an area crowded with commercial facilities. Amidst the competition for consumption, we wanted to cherish the streets of this oasis-like residential area.
Iron Rain – This time, I want to bring back the heavy rain. We used 500 white aluminum plates of three different widths (160, 320, and 480) to create a randomized pattern based on my sketches, and simulated a downpour on the facade. The plates were perforated with randomly generated dots and dashes in Morse code, forming a message that awaits deciphering. To achieve the thickness of a real downpour, the aluminum plates were designed with three layers, cascading like a waterfall, and the outermost layer hides a canopy that maintains functionality while preserving visual integrity. Upon entering the lobby through the rain, the downpour continues. I also designed the steel bookshelves in the shape of raindrops, extending the visual vocabulary from the facade to the interior, creating a sense of continuity. To simplify matters, I used the term “steel” to refer to both perforated aluminum plates and steel bookshelves, hence the name “Iron Rain.”
Functionality Thought—An open space that invites public participation in its construction. PFS Digital Joints is a new concept of pure wood mortise and tenon construction. Buildings without “nails” is not a new idea, but rather an old tradition, as the Chinese have been making houses out of wood for thousands of years, and this will generate quick recognition in the neighborhood.

Alper Derinboğaz worked with Reflect Studio’s creative director Furkan Temir who expresses a vision of a brand inspired by an enthusiasm for what’s next. Reflecting a more hopeful and somewhat romantic outlook for the future, these spaces are meant to realize an updated approach to modernism in the new post-covid era.
Located in Londrina, in an area of intense commercial activity, the interior design project for Isabela Pagnan Atelier is a celebration of the fusion between movement, lightness, and functionality. Organic lines and neutral tones compose the space, conveying elegance and simplicity.
This is a complex of a hair salon and an apparel store that connects fashion and beauty. After considering the area ratio of the two businesses in the limited area of 30 tsubo, the idea of not separating the two businesses equally, but rather having the apparel store as a one-on-one face-to-face sales operation with the apparel store as one of the cutting seats, came to mind. Instead of arranging a variety of designs and sizes as in a regular apparel store, we thought that if we could select clothes based on sharing the customer’s taste, sense, and feeling that only a hair stylist can gain from providing long hours of face-to-face service, and if we could create a small store with products selected just for that person, it would be We thought it would be a good idea.
