Their showroom in Shanghai is a special project, which makes us think deep about the concepts of doors, windows, genis loci, space and time etc.

El Palomar House / FB+ estudio

The house is located in Santiago de las Montañas on the street Juan de Salinas in the Las Palmas neighbourhood in Loja. It is built in 1950, and formerly known as “The Old House”. El Palomar is a restoration and renovation project in which FB+estudio creates a subtle dialogue with the city, from within.

L&M Design Lab’s Office / L&M Design Lab

L&M new office is located on the top floor of an building with terraces of wide view and total vitality for low-rise Yuyuan Road and Xinhua Road Historic Blocks nearby. The top plane rotates 45 degrees relative to the middle plane to cut out four-sided terraces, while bringing multi-triangle, multi-pipe well and multi-inclined beam in the office. We still accept the challenge of triangle for the heartbeat at first sight.

Loft Duvernay / BOOM TOWN

Atelier BOOM-TOWN took advantage of the redevelopment of this loft located in an industrial building near the Atwater Market in Montreal, Quebec, to make a second transformation of this former factory, converted into a dwelling project in the 1980s. The new development decompartmentalizes the space to better appreciate the original volume with its two large masonry walls, steel structure and high ceilings.

Shanghai Corduroy Factory Renovation / FTA Group GmbH

Shanghai Corduroy Factory is located at No. 2440 Pingliang Road in the Yangpu District of Shanghai. It was built and put in use back in the 1980s. With the change of industry structure, the factory stopped operating and it was waiting for a reborn. To revitalize the urban old factories, and turn them into a humane, influential and cohesive innovative community, FTA was commissioned to be the integrated designer for the urban renewal of the Corduroy Factory.

The Farmer Bazaar / Rural Culture D-R-C

The Farmer Bazaar of Qianyang Village is located at village entrance,where is close to the only major highway. It is the first step the villagers must take if they go out of their homeland. Therefore the project is planned to be a service center, where the exhibition of the local products, the education of agricultural knowledge and the electronic commerce can be made.

Halle Girard Building Renovation / Vurpas Architectes

A former factory dating from 1857, the Halle Girard is the last vestige of the industrial past of the Confluence district. The main building of spectacular dimensions is typical of 19th-century industrial architecture. It’s flanked either side with the north and south workshops and their shed roofs. Today, the halle is located at a strategic point in the layout of the Confluence commercial zone 2 as designed by Herzog and De Meuron, at the interface between the development of the dense city and the large natural expanse which will join the southern tip of the site.

Many old bourgeois apartments were divided up at the beginning of the last century and were later reconstructed to suit current lifestyles. This is how the spaces of this apartment changed as well. In the case of the current reconstruction, the intention of the designers was to free up spatial relationships.

Eagle Academy / Shinberg.Levinas Architectural Design

Eagle Academy PCS – Congress Heights Campus is a full renovation and addition to a former DCPS school building. The project accommodates 770 students from PreK3 through elementary school. The addition’s building exterior is composed primarily of polycarbonate multiwall sheets, creating a lantern effect and reinforcing the school’s place on the street as a neighborhood icon. The façade coloration and expression are playful and less uniform while presenting a clean and orderly face to the street. The new wing was designed to better integrate the school within the neighborhood.

From an average suburban house to a sleek building with a strong identity. That is the transformation this building in Tienen, Belgium. The primary incentive of this renovation was to optimize the orientation without radical demolition to the main volume.
