The project is part of the celebration of Siam Cement Group (SCG), the biggest construction materials producer in Thailand, for the company’s 100 year anniversary. Supermachine Studio and 2 other renowned Thai architects are invited to propose a public facility which will be realized dedicating for a community in Thailand. All 3 projects are fully sponsored by SCG. The site chosen is a seaside public park built many years ago in Bangsaen, a coastal town 100 km. east of Bangkok. 3 structures are to be built in the same area; a library by DBALP, a multi-purpose pavilion by DEPT. and a playground by Supermachine Studio.

Swan Lake Bridge House and Viewing Tower / TAO – Trace Architecture Office

Located in Rongcheng, Shandong province, Swan Lake Park is a natural wetland near the Yellow Sea, flat and vast, with reed spreading wildly and water streams meandering. Every October, groups of swans migrate south to this site from Siberia. This magnificent scene, as well as the beautiful landscape of the wetland, attracts large groups of tourists. The local government wishes to build a public facility that provides tourists with services such as viewing and catering.

The project is located at Genghe Town, Gaoming District, Foshan City, Guangdong Province. Foshan is a key city of GBA (Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area). The project area is about 80,000 square meters. The meaning of Shiye is to “pick up the fun of life in nature”, based on this idea, we want to create a natural art village, integrates entertainment, tourism, vacation, shopping, culture, art and education in one town.

Boldog-Özséb Lookout Tower / Koller Studio

In the eighties at Pilis-tető a military base was in function, the ruins of this is still found today in the area. At the 762 meter high hilltop was even a reinforced concrete tower building for surveying targets. The Pilis Park Wood Co. Ltd. supported by the Institute of Geodesy, Cartography and Remote Sensing planned this tower expansion to look-out point meanwhile maintaining the original function.

HU University of Applied Sciences / SHL

Until four years ago, the HU University of Applied Sciences, a school founded in 1995 through the merger of several previously independent institutions, was spread across some 30 buildings in Utrecht, The Netherlands. The university prioritized consolidating its footprint into five adjacent buildings on its Utrecht Science Park campus, and Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects’ new structure is the last of the five to be completed. The 22,310-square-metre Heidelberglaan 15 building is home to eight educational institutes in the economics, management, information communication and technology, and media and communication sectors.

International Accommodation Center For The Oceanological Observatory / Atelier Fernandez & Serres

This project of an accommodation center consists in a restaurant, working space for scientific research and seventy-four. The building is part of a complex of facilities which include the oceanological research center and observatory of Banyuls-sur-Mer, in France. This observatory is located in the middle of the marine natural reserve of Cerbères-Banyuls, in the Pyrénées orientales department. Its purpose, as a European scientific research and training center, is to accommodate scientists and students from all over the world during short research and experimentation missions.

Science Center for the Augustinianum Secondary School / Bez+Kock Architekten

The City of Greven (Münsterland) is located in a region with a great tradition in brick construction. Also the main building of the Augustinianum from the 1960s has a striking exposed brickwork and so it seemed sensible to design the new construction with a brick façade. The selected waterstruck brick with its loamy, brown-grey colour is burnt only a few kilometers away. Its colours merge watercolour-like into one another, whereby the darker heads put distinctive accents on the façade built up in a wild pattern.

Visitors Center Ein Keshatot – Umm el-Kanatir / Raz Architects

It is a site of mediation. The visitor moves back and forth across spaces, between the constant evolving of bare nature and its integration within the architect’s work. Between the outdoor spectacle of the archeological site emerges out of the volcanic soil and the relaxed, soft design characterizes the facilitated indoor area. The visitor moves also across times. This site bridges over more than fifteen hundred years of historical significance. It mediates between an ancient site of religious worship and its possible interpretations within the contemporary political context of Israel’s efforts to reconstruct its national identity.
