About Wiki Tribe
Wiki Tribe is a theme park built by international families, located in Mogan River Valley, Deqing Huzhou, covering an area of 20 acres. As an implement of “co-construction, sharing, symbiosis” from HABITAT III, Wiki Tribe was planned and designed by architects, however, unlike traditional cultural tourism projects, part of the public buildings in Wiki Tribe was designed and built by children and parents from city and countryside.

Over View ​by FreelandBuck is a permanent site-specific ceiling installation at ​Museum Lab​, the ​Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh’s​ expansion into the former Carnegie Free Library of Allegheny on Pittsburgh’s historic North Side. The installation was commissioned as part of the restoration of the historic building, which provides a new museum for older kids offering cutting-edge experiences in art tech and learning, as well as activities and spaces for a new charter school.

Barjeel Installation / Miskavi Architecture Studio

‘Barjeel’ is an architectural installation inspired by the iconic wind towers of the Gulf region, which have been used for centuries as passive cooling devices. Through geometric abstraction and the use of readily available recycled cardboard and aluminum, the installation re-interprets the traditional wind tower while creating a cool place of rest and contemplation for visitors. As a reference to the simple geometric forms used widely in Islamic Architecture, the interior is conceived as a carved void that transforms from a circle at the base to a square on the top.

Self-service Library Station / Architectural Services Department

The architectural design concept of the library station is based on the traditional Chinese bamboo writing slips, which were the main media and writing medium in China with a deep cultural and historical reference. Together with modern spatial composition, use of environmentally friendly materials and barrier free design, a comfortable and harmonious library station is created. The bamboo-tubes ceiling and bamboo-strips screen are few of the design features that bring the traditional reading atmosphere to life.
