The combination of two Parisian apartments to create a unique family dwelling Our brief was to create a new home for a family with two young children, who wanted to stay in central Paris but who also wanted the kind of fluid, open, light-filled spaces not often possible in apartment liv-ing. Two adjoining apartments have been combined to create a single family sized flat along with a well-designed studio for rental.
The expansion of a Hostel located at El Calafate was designed. The site has breathtaking views of Lago Argentino.
The single room extension is designed as a flexible space that will allow the client to enjoy their tranquil garden setting all year round. Located on the side of Uley Bury, an Iron Age hill fort and scheduled ancient monument, the site also falls within a conservation area and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The construction of this Project was financed with a money bonus of $12.000 USD, received by one of the daughters of the owners, and was executed almost completely by another son of the same couple. Within this context, we understood that the house would be completed through the years, with the last details still being worked on.
This project is about extending and improving the houses whose original composition has a single bedroom; these houses are overcrowded, generating situations of violence and tension, especially against women. With the construction of this additional room we will be protecting them, thereby generating a condition of well-being and prosperity for half of the population. In order to reduce overcrowding in houses, the INFONAVIT, implemented the “Un Cuarto Más” (“One More Room”) strategy, which aims to benefit more than two million people in urban areas of Mexico. The main objective of this strategy is the development of prototypes that offer solutions of efficiency in cost, time and extension.
Prior to initiation of this project, the Outreach Foundation provided a very impact-full counselling service to trauma victims in Hillbrow, an area rife with crime and violence. In recent years, counselors at the center were trained further in handling unique trauma relating to migrants and refugees.
Trung Villa is located in a quiet, exclusive area inside Asia Park Residence, Da Nang. The 216m2 of land was expanded in four levels, giving 504m2 space of residence.Each floor is arranged with separate functions but reasonable and convenient for users.
The association of neighbors of Barral has a headquarters located in Campo da Festa de Barral, on the rivershore of Castrelo de Miño. This place is used for meetings and activities of this association of neighbors linked to the reservoir and the Nautical Park, as well as for the preparations of the aforementioned eel party, which begin months before with meetings on the weekends to prepare the eels to be served later in the celebration.
The House in Nishisakabe is an ordinary house built in 1984 for a single family in a typical Japanese suburban landscape without a sense of unity. After 35 years, they decided to update the original house to fit to live with a new family. This is the project of the extension and renovation of the house.
Extension of a single house in burned wood Shou Sugi Ban. Design of three rooms spread over three levels. This extension takes place on an old building cut from the house already by a pedestrian dead end.
