The view on arrival at the Estate is amazing. The soft undulation of the vineyards lets you to take in almost the whole property at once. In the distance, the Big House overlooks the fifty hectares of landscape, embracing it and dominating it.
A small river, a tributary of the Dão, snakes along, defining the property boundary to the Southwest.

House 2 was built as a complement to an existing house from the end of the 19th century. It works as a kind of annex building or garden pavilion. Located at the far end of the property, it is also a backdrop for the garden. Its communal space is a generous double-height winter garden, which ensures the transition between the intimacy of the rooms and the outdoor space.

The former technical space is transformed into a ticket office and a small bar. The obstructed narrow room is stripped down to its bare minimum, the disruptive partitions are gone, the beams are let out. A concise set of interventions is then performed. The walls are cladded in white tiles with a subtle chessboard pattern and flirtatious pink joints. The discontinuous ceiling is painted in blue, doors and window frames are touched with a tint of light green. Every surface and element are self-contained yet complimentary.

Located in a residential condominium in Paraty, in Rio de Janeiro, a few meters away from the beach, the JSL House was designed from the idea of connection – visual, privileging the view to the sea; and living and leisure spaces.

Signed by Greco, this singular pathway allows for particular experiences in those who pass through it. 

Three rammed earth walls made of different colored earths define, organize and structure this house. With different heights they define the occupation of the lot in all directions from a small triangular central courtyard resulting from the intersection of these three walls; organize the spaces of daily life in their basic functions (kitchen and services, living and living and bedrooms); and conceptually and physically structure the coverage of the three volumes resulting from their deployment on the ground.
