Folding Garden is Located in Jiugong Town, Daxin District, Beijing. We were invited to design this community center for Poly Real Estate Group Co., Ltd which needs to be used as a pre-sales center at the very beginning. Jiugong’s full name is called “Xanadu of the old Yamen”, which used to be the Summer Palace for Qing emperor’s hunting hobby, on the other hand, the Nanhaizi was the largest imperial garden and hunting ground in Northern China. We are trying to answer a difficult question through this “Gardening Attempt”. The question is how to inherit the Chinese traditional royal building and at the same time make a smart translation from a huge Chinese garden system to a relatively compact space of our site.

Beijing Peninsula Kindergarten is our second cooperation project with Peninsula Education Group. Mixing the Montessori education with the architecture, our designers aim to create a more suitable space and safe environment for the growth of Chinese children, allowing them to play and learn freely and happily.

The pavilion is built for 2017 Shanghai Urban Space Art Season as part of an outdoor extension of the Lin Gang exhibition.

John Anthony is a contemporary dim sum restaurant located in Hong Kong. The concept for the restaurant is drawn from the historical figure John Anthony, the first Chinese man to be naturalized as a British citizen in 1805. John Anthony, an employee of the East India Company, embarked on the voyage from the East to West arriving in Limehouse, the east end docklands of London. There his job was to ensure lodgings and food for arriving Chinese sailors. He became the father of Limehouse’s Chinatown.

Distance affects the way of communication
Dr. Edward Hall, an American anthropologist who divides four different types of distances from interpersonal relationships, and the renowned socialist Erving Goffman defined “to meet” as “the constant mutual attention of people in public places.”

Located in the winding valley of Mogan Mountain, the newly-built Sury Resort No.3 occupies the site of a decommissioned warehouse. With an area of 580 m2, it contains six guest rooms, an outdoor swimming pool, a bar and other recreational facilities. The building adopts a common and economical concrete frame structure. With a much larger spacing of columns, the building differentiates itself from surrounding local residences in the terms of dimension and scale, bringing in an alien and urban characteristic. The structural frame, with high flexibility for spatial division, provides means to adapt with future variations concerning program and zoning after the lease expires.

The Other Place is a creative guesthouse by the Li River in Pingle County, Guilin, and Studio 10 has just finished the renovation of its Light-and-Shadow-themed guestrooms.

This architecture represents a facility for the dead. Being a place where ten thousand lives are gathered in the name of death, it is a community and city of the dead. So I decided to design the whole architecture as a complete set of required facilities for a city.
