Anyone who has been to Beijing would know that Sanlitun is an active area popular for its commercial activities. Waves of retail spaces come and go, and a flow of consumers constantly searching for the next talking points. In response to the hustle and bustle, Lukstudio has created a minimal cafe for the yogurt brand LePur,aiming to provide an alternative spot for the hyper-stimulated crowd to take a break.
During the Republic of China era, Dongshan District of Guangzhou was inhabited by members of the dignitaries and the privileged class, whose luxurious lifestyle that was marked by the celebrity parties, villa clusters, blocks of Western houses and splendid attires have become the folklore of the generation. Having witnessed the country’s ups and downs, today’s Dongshan District, moistly and gently cleansed by the flow of time, is becoming more charming with the modest scene of the common families in Lingnan, which is also where EASE Leisure & Art (abbr. EASE) is located.
The Guyang River, situated in the eastern of He Jian City, is a part of the ancient waterway around the river in history. However, in modern times, the waterway has been abandoned, and the large waste from the surrounding factories and residential areas made the ancient waterway a drain. The Guyang River Park we designed and built is the important part of the renovation of the water system around the city: dredging waterways, rectifying water bodies and ecological restoration of water bodies and surrounding areas.
Located in the remote village of Tuanjie, the Dafa Canal Tourist Information Center is one of the first projects of a new government policy to help ameliorate rural poverty through the introduction of agricultural tourism. The building aims to become a new centerpiece in the village, catalyzing further development in the area.
Beijing-based architecture studio, TEMP, has renovated an old house into a café in Incheon, South Korea. The original structure was first built in the 70s using mainly bricks and concrete for a residential purpose. It was then turned into a local noodle store by the early 2000s. During this first transition, the building was painted white and the front yard was flattened into a parking lot. In refitting the structure to function as café, the studio designed through methods that mostly comprised of destruction to reveal the original architecture.
To create a huge emptiness within the crowded shopping mall and tried to present the interior space more like an architectural work, a simple solution for the store came up:

Hi Ladders High is a non-profit project launched in the summer of 2018. In the Summer Camp of Tanghe Primary School in Luotian County, Hubei Province, One Take Architects and Sunners, together with college volunteers and left-behind children designed and built this spatial installation.
