This space creation is designed for the Exhibition of Art and Design Education Projects organized by the Ministry of Education. Students can be guided through national education to cultivate aesthetic knowledge and enhance life qualify. Thus, the design of the exhibition space attempts to achieve this goal, too.
ARCHSTUDIO transformed a small individual building situated in an old hutong neighborhood of Beijing. Due to historic reasons, there are many individual buildings in Beijing’s old districts, apart from traditional courtyard dwellings (Siheyuan) and big messy courtyards (Dazayuan). The design team replaced the original flat roof with a pitched structure, and reduced the architectural volume to integrate it into the surrounding built environment.
The research direction of this space installation is “formation and digital construction of extremely small curved surfaces”. The design team members integrate the forms of two flowers into the design and create the “double-core” virtual form through the computer.
This is an architectural renovation project designed for working requirements and the living conditions of an artist. We named the project Apartment 55 (A55) because the number 55 has a special meaning to the owner.
The project is a small club located in Foshan, China. By approaching the interior design based on the site and architectural conditions, Matrix Design created an exquisite, tranquil and comfortable home-like space with creative designs, providing urban elites with a fantastic destination to relax and meet friends.
The new Library of Chongqing Real Estate College will provide the Campus with an iconic landmark providing much-needed facilities for study and research for teachers and students alike. The site of the project is located in the center of Chongqing Real Estate College Campus. It is surrounded with academic buildings in the north, a sports stadium in the south, student dormitories to the east, and a site reserved for the future Technology & Science Hall on the west. The most prominent feature on the site, a bronze memorial statue of Zhou Enlai the First Prime Minister of PRC, is located on the central axle on the north of the site.
Limitations and claims
This project is located in Shengshan Town, Zhoushan City, Zhejiang province. The local B&B project has a clear implementation manual, which limits the total area, floor area, height of the building, and even the architectural style. As a result, architectural styling and space creation are extremely limited.
Jewelry represents time and witnesses stories. In this project, we cooperated with SEEING JEWELRY, hoping to convey a space that contains both the beauty and stories to the customers.
We are commissioned to design an expressive entrance facade for the Jambo Arts Hotel in Xi’an. The Chinese name of the hotel ‘Zhanbai’ (it means white bursting ) somehow is associated with ‘fluent’, ‘white’ and ‘dramatic’, therefore we came out with the idea of something to do with ‘paper rolling’.
Pop artist Andy Warhol once said, “In the future, everyone has a chance at 15 minutes of fame”. In this age of Internet celebrities, people eat not just to satisfy their appetite, but they also use the food and the environment to show off themselves. Where Doko Bar located in Nanshan District of Shenzhen, is a representative Internet celebrity dessert shop. Waterfrom design, originated from the 15-minute theory, considers the eating process a show. From the moment our guests step inside our store, take a seat, and from the moment we prepare our dessert to deliver our dishes and our guests taste our food, every step of the way is like tight-coupling chapters of a play. Everyone in the store becomes a member of the platform. The space is a laboratory in which people taste their food.
