Blouin Beauchamp Architectes proudly introduce The Slate, a residence situated on a long plot of land on Ile Bizard, Quebec, bordered by a road running along former agricultural lands on one side, and Lake of Two Mountains on the other. Upon entering the site, an alley lined with tall mature trees directs towards the lake, where an extensive shoreline and vegetation cover are undeniable qualities to enhance and preserve the place.
Located in the Minimes district, between the Canal du Midi and the Barrière de Paris neighborhood, the site forms a corner between Avenue Frédéric Estèbe and rue Mengaud. The ground floors of the buildings along Avenue des Minimes, mostly ranging from one to three-story buildings, are mainly occupied by shops. Avenue Frédéric Estèbe, on the other hand, has a marked residential character, with two to four-story buildings as well as ground-floor houses or old Toulousaines that have recently been raised. A network of residential streets runs perpendicular to Avenue Frédéric Estèbe, offering a variety of architectural styles, from beautiful Toulousaines with gardens to pavilions from the 1940s, and small post-war buildings as far as rue Negreneys.
Extension of the National Swedish Museum of Technology, housing a visualization dome, a spherical space where visualization technology achieves an immersive audiovisual experience, along with a café and an exhibition hall. The building splices together museum functions around an unused courtyard, and though the dome function is tall, the addition is sensitive to the vaulted hall and lower buildings defining the courtyard today.
Flor & Fjære is a unique garden on Sør Hidle outside Stavanger. The addition of a new greenhouse makes this destination more self-sufficient and sustainable. The spectacular park facility on the island is the result of continuous, persistent, and passionate work. It is an oasis that invites one to a feast for the senses. The new greenhouse is 4,000 square meters. It provides a completely new experience of the park, as well as an important transition to local food and energy production and thus, reduced transport. Here, guests can visit the Jungle Restaurant and event and meeting rooms, which are experienced as an organic and coherent part of the garden.
This sculptural addition to the business district on Guangzhou’s Pazhou Island is the centerpiece of a reconceptualized city block, which combines green space with covered walkways and multiple levels of retail and commerce.

The 742,000-square-foot campus unfolds across 10, five–, and seven-story pavilions clustered along a central pedestrian spine that links indoor and open-air courtyards, communal spaces, and amenities across all levels. By lifting the structure, the terrain underneath can continue to grow and envelop the lower-level public spaces and upper-level offices to achieve a treehouse effect. This approach of designing within the landscape provides an alternative to traditional, internally focused buildings. Joining projects such as Marina Bay Sands, Sky Habitat, and Jewel Changi Airport, Surbana Jurong extends Safdie Architects’ imprint on the city-state’s architecture and contributes a new typology in its evolution as a “Garden City.”
The park on the Moravian Square in Brno has become a new vibrant place, establishing its own poetics of peace and action, starkly contrasting the city’s constant commotion and traffic. The project represents a comprehensive approach to revitalizing a heavily frequented public space in Brno’s historic center, meeting the demands of the 21st century. It incorporates the blue-green infrastructure elements, environmental sustainability requirements, and biodiversity, co-creating community, and embracing inclusivity.
This house is located in Mount Washington, a suburb in the hills of north-east Los Angeles. The property is on a steep hill with sweeping 180° views towards the Elysian Valley. From here, one can see downtown LA, the Echo Park hills, Silver Lake, Griffith Park, and Hollywood; and overlook the Los Angeles River, three freeways (5, 2 and 110), and the railway line running through Los Angeles State Park.
The intervention is carried out in a 32m2 apartment in a listed building of heritage character from the thirties in the Balvanera neighborhood, in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. The preexisting organization of the unit presented a series of poorly articulated enclosures, so the work was done to maximize the entry of natural light throughout the unit and recover the footprint of the original project, while adapting to contemporary ways of living, such as living and working in the same space.
