Kunstpalast Düsseldorf Museum / Sieber Architekten

Built within less than one year between 1925 and 1926 according to Wilhelm Kreis’ extensive plans, the Ehrenhof contains an ensemble of cultural buildings. The perception of the Kunstpalast was previously characterized by 2 existing separate wings. Both buildings were now connected under a common name.

To create a small guesthouse and rental unit on a steep hillside property in Marin County CA, Mork-Ulnes Architects took the foundation from an old garage. They built a new Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) on the exact footprint of the old garage.

House for a Grandmother / Philip Lütken

In Copenhagen, Amager, you find a large suburban area of villas. Here, a grandmother moved into the house of her daughter. By selling her previous home, it became possible to finance the construction of a small extension to the daughter’s house. An extension that stands in connection with the existing, but at the same time functions as an independent home for the grandmother, or multiple generations that might come in the future.

House in Sierra de Arteaga / S-AR

This project is a weekend house in the mountains of the Sierra de Arteaga, in the state of Coahuila in northern Mexico. The house is laid out on the slope of an old orchard in mountainous surroundings, to have minimal impact on the site and natural vegetation. This solution also ensured the best views, as the orchard vegetation is much more open and lower than the surrounding forest.

STAN Yoga Studio / Dubrovska Studio

Stan is a yoga and barre studio in central Kyiv, that welcomes those identifying as women. Situated in a vibrant area, it was founded by a professional ballet dancer, Mariia Dreihaupt. Designers intentionally crafted a significant part of the project around her, intertwining her personality with a broader celebration of women.
