Guests coming up the front steps of this hilltop home are met with a Carrera marble sculpture by Richard Erdman, titled Serenade, selected by our clients, whose devotion to the process made this an especially joyful collaboration. Also part of the team were Robert Wright and Jason York of McCormick and Wright, who did the interior design. There are a lot of details and non-standard finishes in this house – personal taste, not trendy taste.

Private apartment in Vilnius / DO Architects

A former deprived warehouse, located in reviving station neighborhood in Vilnius, is now transformed into apartments building with an architects studio on the ground floor. The project became an instance of how the low value architecture may be transformed and inspire the process of revitalizing the street. Instead of demolishing the building DO ARCHITECTS decided to benefit from the existing qualities. Private apartments located on the first floor are adapted for a contemporary needs, offering inhabitants qualities of private entrances and terraces that enhance co-living.

Urban Hamlet / Chiasmus Partners

Located at a newly built residential complex in the southwestern outskirts of Daejeon City, the Urban Hamlet is built for four children and their parents. The design uses a novel approach to the use of form and space by experimenting with the significance of what is private and public in a way that captures the needs and the essence of the modern family.

De Nieuwe Noorder / Moke Architecten

This crematorium in Amsterdam– Noord shows how an intelligent architectural concept can make a major contribution to people’s experience of the funeral ritual. Because the architects did not approach the crematorium as a single building, but as a succession of moments, the complex is flexible and offers visitors room to quietly experience the greenery between the buildings.

Hermes City Plaza / Standard Studio

Standard Studio, icw Joyce Kelder, transformed office building ‘Hermes City Plaza’ into a residential building with 218 student houses. Each year the Erasmus University program houses their freshman year students in the student houses. Inspired by the tiny house movement, Standard Studio succeeded in getting all these independently functioning homes into the building on the Stadhuisplein in Rotterdam.

The Royal Danish Opera / Henning Larsen

Before and after the night’s performance, the Opera foyer sets the stage for a scene at least as fascinating as the actual performance. On the suspended balconies and stairways, audiences take position to see and be seen.

Hyatt Global Headquarters / Gensler

The timing was right—Hyatt needed to consolidate several offices throughout Chicago; there appeared to be a lack of connection between the staff at headquarters—many who had limited personal knowledge of Hyatt properties—and the staff at the hotel properties; and their workplace needed to reflect the work paradigm of the 21st century.
