In a space with a height of 8 meters on each floor, the production process, Research and Development center ( R&D Center) and achievement display area of the beauty brand – JOLA is presenting in front of the visitors like an artwork. We have designed the exterior of the building as an art gallery. Not only the heat insulation and partial lighting, art is the ultimate beauty.
Container Block in Haojiacun Urban Village is a project carried out on the premise of “Low-Res Completion”— primitive commercial plan, limited investigation and low controllability on appearance. We had to give up the dependence on “completeness”, and rethink the multiple meanings of our design pursuit — “order”. “Design” still finds its entry points under such circumstances.
Background
The project is located in a two-story commercial house near Hongze Lake in Huaian, north of Renmin Road. In recent years, with the development of tourism resources in Hongze Lake, more and more people from other cities choose to come here for sightseeing and taste the local fresh lake food, among which a large number of young people. In this context, our owner proposed to transform the original 120 square meters house into a home stay suitable for young people.
The Camping Service Center in Louna was initially designed in November 2016 and completed and put into use in October 2017. It is located in the Architect Commune of the Dachong Group, Louna Village, located in the eastern mountainous area of Xingyi City, Guizhou Province. The site is a closed basin surrounded by mountains. The west side of the site is close to a mountain, while a road and a pool appear to its east. There are two adjacent courtyard houses on the site whose foundations and some stone walls were reserved after their demolition.
Located in Shenzhen Xili Vanke Cloud Design Commune, YIJING Architecture Design Studio is an office community surrounded by green trees and full of vitality. Before we moved in, this space was supposed to be operated as an exhibition hall. That’s why there is a beam of light and 24 columns with different angles and spacing. The inspiration from the external environment led to the idea of “an office space within a park and a park within an office space”. The designer decided to arrange different functional areas based on the angles and spacing between the columns, and use the height of 6 meters to design the cantilevered structure and create two well-proportioned resting boxes.
Taking “open space” as the entry point, Zhengzhou No. 130 Middle School builds an intensive campus through the building of “group courtyard” and “two-floor dynamic platform”; by following the overall architectural style, it realizes the contemporary expression of traditional culture; focusing on detail and space design, it presents the beauty of architectural details with high quality.
Project Background
After the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Integrated Development Outline Plan was upgraded to China’s national development plan, Beijing’s non-capital functions have been transferred outwards, with the clothing wholesale and processing industries bearing the brunt. Under such background, Cangzhou Dongsu Group took advantage of Cangzhou’s geographical advantages to invest in the construction of Mingzhu Trade City and Mingzhu International Clothing Industry Characteristic Town. The whole industry chain has undertaken the pressure from Beijing’s Clothing Industry and even transformed and upgraded on top of it, trying to create a new business operation model that integrates design and development, production and processing, wholesale and retail, warehousing and logistics, e-commerce, entertainment and leisure.
Project background: Urban renewal under industrial change
This project is located in the Yantai Development Zone on the Bohai Bay. At the initial stage, it was only a deserted beach by the sea. Since the establishment of the zone in the early 1990s, the development zone has undergone several rounds of industrial renewal and has become one of the leading areas of economic development in Shandong Province. The deserted beach has also become a mature community with urban parks and public beaches. The project itself has gone from the training building to the guest house, and has once again been upgraded to the headquarters of the scientific research office. Its overall appearance has shown new vitality as the urban industry.
Located in Shanghai’s former French Concession, Atelier xy was tasked with designing the interior of a bar in the heart of Shanghai. Many shops and restaurants line the hustle and bustle of the adjacent street. To enter, guests walk up the stairs through a long and dark corridor, which acts as a transition between the noisy exterior and the quiet interior. Once the reception is reached, the unique character of this place slowly reveals itself.
Ryoutei Matsuko
3 stories old house on the Xihu lakeside was renovated to 2 types of Japanese Restaurant. We planned traditional Japanese restaurant on the second and third floor which has calm atmosphere.
