YEARLY PLAN Shanghai Showroom / SHISUO design office

February 1, 2026 韩爽 - HAN Shuang 0

Confronted with an irregular original site, SHISUO returned to the fundamental element of fashion display: the hanging rail. A “single continuous rail” is allowed to morph in response to the existing walls, columns, and rainwater pipes. It traces the walls, bends to evade columns, and rises to allow passage, absorbing the chaotic nature of the environment and transforming it into a dynamic vitality.

Café On-Site / aptdotapt

January 31, 2026 韩爽 - HAN Shuang 0

Located in a small town in Zhejiang, China, Café On-Site(开场Kai-Chang) is conceived as a field of energy for neighborhoods. Beyond serving locally inspired signature coffee and food, the café focuses on human gathering and interaction — on how energy flows, accumulates, and connects within a spatial setting. We developed the project holistically, including brand strategy, naming, visual identity, and interior design.

Verdant Ridges / Wutopia Lab

January 29, 2026 韩爽 - HAN Shuang 0

The site was originally home to the Xinguang Silk Weaving Factory. The renovated Building No. 5 has now been transformed into a versatile theater, seamlessly integrating Suzhou-style stage performances with medium-sized conferences. In architectural renovation, the common approaches typically fall into two categories: completely redesigning parts of the structure or preserving its original form as much as possible. Wutopia Lab seeks to break free from this binary and explore a new path. Inspired by the dramatic life of Tang Bohu, we go beyond merely preserving the historical depth of the old building—we breathe new artistic life into it.

Volcano-In Hotel of Arrivals / PLAT ASIA

January 28, 2026 韩爽 - HAN Shuang 0

Site: Ecological Restoration – The design team and clients observed that the southern area of this volcano, supporting only sparse herb species, contrasted sharply with the lush vegetation surrounding the volcanoes. Collaborating with geologists and local herders, the team investigated the cause. The site has undergone erosion for approximately 150,000 years. The volcanic cone slumped into nine hills, now covered in soft grassland, and blended into the steppe. Located southeast of the cone, the hotel site is leeward to the northwest wind, resulting in snow and sand accumulation. Harsh soil conditions make plant growth difficult. Therefore, the hotel was deliberately sited over two-meter-deep sand pits to prevent their expansion, replace them with a new ecosystem, and restore vitality. Strategies include a snow barrier wall to retain water, protect the soil, and create a better environment for planting.

The project is located within a C-shaped extinct volcano that erupted approximately 150,000 years ago during the Pleistocene Epoch of the Quaternary Period. It is one of 108 volcanoes in the Baiyinkulun Steppe & Volcano Area, situated about 380 kilometers north of Tian’anmen Square along the longitude line of E 116°23′28″ at latitude N 43°18′37″. Volcano-In lies on the southern edge of the Xilingol Steppe, with the Otindag Sandy Land to the south, Dali Lake to the east, the Yanshan Mountains and the Greater Khingan Range farther to the east, and the Baiyinkulun Relict Gull Nature Reserve to the west. The area is rich in natural resources and features a wild landscape comprising mountains, volcanoes, wetlands, forests, fields, lakes, steppes, sandy lands, and snowfields, which together foster flourishing biodiversity and cultural contexts.

Seventeen TeaHouse / Modum Atelier

January 25, 2026 韩爽 - HAN Shuang 0

The Seventeen Teahouse is located on the second floor of a street corner in Nanjing’s Caozhi Alley, situated between the bustling Xinjiekou commercial district and an old residential area, with no direct street-level interface. The design responds to its condition of being “present yet unseen,” while creating a tea space suited for contemporary socialization, balancing privacy and shared experience.

Parallel – The drying yard nestles on the mid-slope of Gaoligong Mountains’ eastern flank in Mangkuan Yi-Dai Township. Aligned with the meridional Hengduan Ranges, it basks in prolonged sunlight from dawn to dusk. Enveloped by the mountain’s primal grandeur, the new structure dissolves into the terrain with lightweight humility.

Guangzhou Xuelei Fragrance Museum / Shenzhen Huahui Design

January 21, 2026 韩爽 - HAN Shuang 0

The Guangzhou Xuelei Fragrance Museum takes scent—an invisible and intangible medium—as the starting point of its architectural concept. Challenging the visual dominance of conventional museum design, the project introduces smell, memory, and multisensory perception into spatial narration. Guided by principles of openness, collaboration, and sustainability, the museum is conceived not merely as an attractive cultural destination, but as a platform for public engagement with the history of perfumery, traditional craftsmanship, and contemporary technologies. It offers an ideal environment to experience the evolution of fragrance creation. Through architectural expression, the intangible nature of scent is transformed into a tangible, spatial encounter—establishing the museum as a vital venue for dialogue and exchange within global fragrance culture.

Qingyi Lodge / Hsu & Du Architects

January 20, 2026 韩爽 - HAN Shuang 0

The project is a renovation project which located in Xianjing Village, Baita Town, Xianju County, Zhejiang Province. From the village, one can directly overlook the Fanzeng Peak in the southwest. Relying on the beautiful natural scenery of the Shenxianju mountains, the town government hopes to transform Xianjing Village into a sketching art village. They entrusted us to renovate the abandoned primary school, hoping to attract young art students and artists to come to the village, stay and do some sketching nearby. The Youth Artist’s Dormitory is named as “Qingyi Lodge”.The main building of the village primary school was originally a two-story brick-concrete structure constructed in the 1970s-1980s. We hope to retain the form of the old school, but bring new life to it.

SIGMA Space / ONOAA STUDIO

January 18, 2026 韩爽 - HAN Shuang 0

“Like water through a river” — a phrase used by SIGMA founder Michihiro Yamaki — describes the Aizu factory’s camera and lens production: continuous, precise, and tightly connected, like flowing water. Restraint and prudence come from logical thinking, while warmth reflects intention carried through time. ONOAA STUDIO sought to translate this spirit into a space as pure as water, tucked beside a quiet garden yet adjacent to the city’s bustle. SIGMA’s philosophy, “Beyond the technology, is Art,” became a central thread throughout the planning and design.
