Kunshan New Life Hub / BAU

Microcosm
In an attempt to counter the tendencies towards segregation of programs and land-use in current Chinese planning, BAU added a diversity of opportunities for work, housing, recreation and public facilities to the original brief for a shopping centre with restaurants. Consequently, small office/home office (SOHO) accommodation, sports facilities and a community multi-purpose hall have been added to the original brief for retail and restaurants. In short the shopping centre has become a microcosm of the city.

My House / Xutan Wang

This is a house designed by an architect for his family. It is built by traditional rural clay masons, located in a village in Hunan, China. This is a large family of four generations with up to a dozen family members. As the original old house can no longer meet new needs of living, the three brothers and sisters decided to jointly invest in the construction of a new house.

Pulsa Residential Building / Aedas

Repulse Bay is among the most luxury residential areas in Hong Kong. Backed by mountains, Pulsa is steeply sloped with spectacular sea view of the Bay. Eight houses are arranged in two tiers to optimize sea views, yet minimizing disturbance to the natural slope.

When passing through the KIKI noodle house the Hong Kong Plaza in Shanghai, you notice the brand“KIKI Noodle” with the actor Shu Qi is “big fans”, which attracts the attention of many people. Once you find out more, this is the noodle house of Shu Qi.. The ancient Taiwan Tainan handmade sun-dried noodle is the biggest feature of this noodle bar.

Slow Yangzhou x Xinhua Bookstore / Wutopia Lab

Wutopia Lab is invited by client to renovate a Xinhua Bookstore and its annex room in the historic district of Yangzhou. The bookstore is redesigned as a multi-functional box for bookstore, hostel, exhibition, conference and tea house, which presents a possibility of connection of the past and the future of the city of Yangzhou.

YUE Art Gallery / BLACKhome

The original Jinwei Brewery District in Luohu of Shenzhen was included in the Industrial Heritage Renewal Program, aiming to become one of the most culturally place in Shenzhen city. The original cans production building in the north portal of the brewery district will be redesigned by the BLACKhome. It will be used as a retail and cultural building integrating art exhibition, office and sell-house functions. With this seemingly simple facade renovation project, the architect completed a reinterpretation of the “heritage” and “facade”.

National Museum of Prehistory / KRIS YAO | ARTECH

Today’s vigorously developing Southern Taiwan Science Park was long ago inhabited by different prehistoric peoples. The Museum of Prehistory was built to house the rich troves of archeological treasures discovered by chance during the construction of the Science Park; and to preserve these precious artifacts dating as far back as 5,000 years. The museum’s overall architectural scheme is based on the idea of: going further back in time the farther down you go. The depth of your knowledge likewise increases as you proceed downward from today to over five millennia ago.

Activity Homes at Yunjin Road / Scenic Architecture

We designed a series of public facilities in the Runway Park, which was renovated from Longhua airport with a 100-years history located at the west bank of Shanghai Huangpu River. This project is a concentrated part of the whole series with three buildings including a community pavilion, a coffee shop, and a restaurant.
