This Spanish holiday home is composed of simple rectangular volumes displaced on the floor to create a dynamic aesthetic despite the limited space of the plot. The striated concrete walls cut by continuous window openings define this villa as a combination of horizontal stripes alternating between solid and glass.
Stones. The two lodgings were developed in a stone quarry in the town of Baños de Agua Santa. The land is sheltered by the Tungurahua Volcano, which has been erupting for 20 years, and a river called Pastaza flows alongside it.
Petricor, the earthy aroma that is produced when rain falls on dry soil, reminds us of the feeling of peace that is nature renewing itself, through tranquility and stillness. Villa Petricor connects us with the natural world by providing spaces that encourage us to slow down and marvel at the beauty of the present moment.
Where the furrows of the fertile land reveal the stones of the subsoil, a simple and humble dwelling from the late 19th century rises. The imposing modesty of its gaze watches over the agricultural landscape and relates to it by opening its gaps to the territory.
Casa Pinguino is a vacation residence in the tourist town of Carilo, Buenos Aires, Argentina, designed to accommodate a variety of restful activities while being austere in the use of available resources.
The Donado 1655 building is located in the new Donado Holmberg Park Neighborhood, in the City of Buenos Aires, on a lot with two fronts and a development of 26 meters of facade on the green corridor that defines this area of the city.
This project arrived as a particular commission to the studio by the clients who presented us with the challenge of reforming a traditional property located in the heritage neighborhood of Prado in Montevideo to convert it into their permanent residence. Despite being dedicated to housing and prefabricated modular constructions, we are always open to new challenges, which is why this proposal that was out of the ordinary captivated us with the rigor of facing a world that we already knew but that we had not manipulated for a long time: traditional on-site construction.
The project arises from the interest in respecting the landscape and building with materials that are within reach, seeking a contemporary language with local resources.
The region of Axarquia is landmarked by the ancestral footprint of so many dedicated farmers. The agricultural tradition and its vernacular architecture lead us to solve this project from a look into the past.
House in Los Cocos is located south of the historic center of Mérida – Yucatán, in Mexico. The design of the project arises from the proportion of the land itself, 70 meters long x 8 meters wide.
