We want to create a very simple and sober building while being the most beautiful in the world. We understand that this new building should complete and complement the main building of MagaZZino. To achieve this, it is arranged perpendicular to the first, creating a unified space between them. The new extension is set back from the main complex at an appropriate distance to address functional issues.
SULA (a genus of seabirds commonly known as boobies) as it was named, is a house that was pre-fabricated in Quito in 2 months, it integrates 17,000 screws and nearly 2,000 custom-made pieces in wood, metal, aluminum, and glass. It was transported in 2 trucks to the port of Guayaquil and in 2 containers to Puerto Ayora – Santa Cruz Galapagos. It was assembled in 1 month with a fixed team of 4 people and 6 itinerant people in different specialties. It was created for Catalina and her family, residents of the islands for over 40 years.
Originated from the architecture office Dum Dum Lab, with the financing of the Fondart 2022 Artistic Creation contest and the Department of Architecture UTFSM, the Pabellón 25 project had as its premise to design an interpretive pavilion that would allow the recognition of the ecosystemic and landscape values of the Federico Santa María Cliffs Sanctuary while commemorating the 25 years of the Department of Architecture of the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María.
Before any social contract and right after our supposed subjective singularity, there is an individual mirrored in another individual, that is: a couple.
The project proposes a suspended volume over the ground that rotates with respect to the street, facing north to seek the sun and distant views of the Andes Mountain Range. This volume, made up of a concrete parallelepiped, is intervened as a granite sculpture. Through the excavation of the volume, in a play of full and empty, the spaces of the program are accommodated. To highlight this sculpting process, some walls are left polished and others textured, just as the contrast between the cut planes and the untouched faces of the natural stone remains.
The housing is located within the framework of a renovation in which there was only one floor on a 75m2 plot, in which the housing occupied 2/3 of the footprint. The layout of the house was directly related to a 9m tall tree (ficus) on its southwest facade.

CIMA is a private education project at the basic level, located in Aguascalientes, Mexico. This building is part of an educational master plan located on a 15,000.00 m2 property, with a total of 1,800.00 m2 of construction.
Casa R&R is located in a dense pine forest. It is the main house of a family, not a vacation home, so special attention was paid to the way the private spaces of the house relate to the ‘day’ areas and a clear separation from the public parts of the house: a yoga room for 20 people and a guest suite.
