Lintel House / Palafito Arquitectura

June 12, 2023 Benjamin Zapico 0

Winner of the national architecture biennial in Colombia, this house is located on a flat suburban lot, without much interest and without distant views. Casa Dintel is a proposal for the formation of a “landscape” that disguises an extensive program of six bedrooms with bathrooms + studies. The challenge: how to disguise such an extensive program and integrate it into the landscape?

Morla House / Stanaćev Granados

La Casa Morla is the result of a project located in Matanzas (Chile), a small coastal town famous for its conditions for water sports. As it is a rental house, we had to optimize the surfaces to the maximum and think of it from an architectural language that would allow us to work with a tight budget knowing that it would be executed with non-specialized local labor.

Olivos House / Balzar Arquitectos

Olivos House is a fusion of environment, client, and architecture. The history of its inhabitants is peculiar and has a strong connection to the town. Quesa is a region in the interior of Valencia, a small Mediterranean village with Arab origins. The owners, originally from Barcelona, had spent several summers in the region during their childhood. When revisiting the town, they reconnected with the people and the environment, and thus begins the story of Olivos House.

Selected at the XII BIAU and the Colombian Biennial, this small bamboo building for thousands of Apis mellifera bees allows bees and students to coexist in the same place. With the paradox that bees are inside – but in a space that opens to the sky – and humans are outside – but protected by a slender and sculptural forest.

The Pivadenco School is part of the Rural Schools of Araucanía project, an initiative of the Ministry of Education that proposed the development of 8 small schools in rural areas of this region, the poorest in Chile, with a high percentage of Mapuche population and an unresolved historical conflict that is worsening. Our offices developed four schools, two in the commune of Los Sauces and two in the commune of Melipeuco, territories with diverse communities that required schools with an intercultural approach. In these scattered rural territories, the school is the center of community life.

Espai Nora Renovation / NØRA studio

June 4, 2023 Benjamin Zapico 0

Although the beginnings of the study are in the city of Barcelona, while we were studying at the school of architecture, Nora’s choir and roots have a strong base in Mallorca. After many years in Muro, a town for which we are grateful for the multiple opportunities it has given us during our early years, we are presented with the possibility of designing a new space to continue developing our activity. We take on this challenge with great enthusiasm since we firmly believe that the workspace must be inspiring for its inhabitants and the people visiting us.
