This is a pavilion without a name. It is a nameless pavilion; less than a structure, an infrastructure. It is an idiosyncratic place that refuses to be called in a single manner, with a single word. A place that even declines to be called a pavilion (since it would remind those colorful insects who jump from one flower to another, resting in balance for a fleeting moment).
This project seeks to question the standards of life and the way in which user lives and inhabits their spaces on a daily basis. Casa Patio seeks to separate the space from daily life in the city and invite the user to live an experience, an escape into the unknown, a refuge where the steel columns shelter those exterior corridors embraced by central patios which they asked nature for permission to coexist with her in the same harmony.
For this year of MDF Mexico Design Fair, the pyrotechnic installation at the beach was developed through a collaboration between Monterrey-based firm S-AR and the fireworks workshop of the Martínez family from Salamanca, Guanajuato.
Plaza Sóller in Barcelona (Spain, 1983) was enclosed by a porticoed structure that separated it from the surrounding area. At the end of the square was the Ateneu la Bòbila community facility. It was an underused space on the outskirts of the neighborhood’s people’s everyday lives due to the difficulties of entering or leaving, as well as significant architectural barriers.
The house is projected and can be read in its longitudinal section and cross-section, forming three varied volumes and two strips as their sutures. Its configuration responds to particular climatic issues, solar incidence, visual landscape, routes, and ways of living. Three volumes can be distinguished in the transversal conformation of the house.
Colegio 29 de Noviembre is an educational institution built in 2010 in the district of Nueva Colonia, in Turbo, Colombia. One of the few public infrastructures in a town with high rates of poverty and deficiencies at all levels in public services, roads, housing, etc.
Ph Superí is located in the City of Buenos Aires on the border of the Coghlan and Saavedra neighborhoods. It’s a low-density area four blocks from Saavedra Park, between Crámer and Balbín avenues.
The construction of a building is the materialization of an idea. The alchemy of time transmutes the buildings, but the ideas, these are eternal. Le Corbusier had planted an idea that would germinate 100 years later. The project is carried out on a lot 6m wide and 25m long. The project consists of a house with a central patio that articulates all the spaces and solves the natural ventilation of the environment.
The Project is located in the green zone where “Sa Cova Son Caulelles” is found, in Pórtol, Marratxí. It lies on a very irregular site, due to an existing old sandstone quarry. Due to time and the surrounding environment, the quarry is now covered by a layer of topsoil and lush vegetation, which is dominated by the Mediterranean Pine.
In the limits of San Ignacio, Nayarit, the office had the opportunity to contribute and take a seat at the table for the development of Barajas. There, where self-construction is locality and tradition, seeking an adequate integration with the context and familiarity of the people becomes a complex task due to the various customs collision.
