For the Olympic Spa Hotel in Val di Fassa, northern Italy, NOA designs a new extension according to a sustainable model, aiming to enhance and integrate the facilities with the surrounding landscape. From the new rooms nestled in the Alpine meadow, with terraces and internal patios, to the surprising sauna overlooking the forest, to be reached by an aerial path, this project camouflages the new, plays with the profile of the mountains, and gives guests the emotion of a sincere bond with nature.

The Lucky Club is a new bar in Camden that is perched alongside the Grade II* Listed Horse Hospital, designed by vPPR Architects for LabTech Ltd. The lightweight structure has been delicately positioned above the historic built fabric of the Stables Market, wrapping around the corner facing onto Chalk Farm Road. The design draws on the heritage of its location, with an undulating steel pattern that acts as a crown, signaling North London’s newest hotspot.

Coeru Shibuya Offices and Commercial Building / Maeda Corporation

While the demand for timber materials for building construction has been increasing for recent years, Maeda Corporation and Holzstr in collaboration have developed Timber-Steel Hybrid structural brace “Mokkou-Kumiko.” This structure binds a steel plate by exposed red pine wood unitizing it into a lattice system that takes advantage of both toughness of compression by wood, and its tension by steel making high seismic resistance.

Aria Residential Building / Pargar Architecture and Design Studio

Aria residential building is located in the district of Farmanieh in the north of Tehran which is a green area with great views. The site access is easy due to the potential of being surrounded by 3 streets and having a neighborhood just on the east side. So, the design team decided to make two different access to the building, one for the parking at the south and the pedestrian access in the north. This placement provided the proper daylight for the building.
