The Mill underwent a dramatic transition from an abandoned ruin to a vibrant public space, regained back to the community it belongs.

Paris City Council Approves Gustafson Porter + Bowman’s Landscape Plan for the Eiffel Tower Site

Paris City Council granted final approval to Gustafson Porter + Bowman‘s landscape design for the Eiffel Tower site. The project is the result of a 2019 international competition that sought to redesign the 2-kilometre axis leading up to the Eiffel Tower, connecting Place du Trocadéro, Palais de Chaillot, Pont d’Iéna, Champ de Mars and the Military Academy. The landscape plan redefines this iconic green space in Paris by increasing green areas by 35% and adding over 200 new trees, in addition to pedestrianizing the Iena bridge.

House in Yanakacho / Taiga Kasai + Chong Aehyand Architecture / KACH

The private house for the family of four which is located in residential area in Japan. We create a generous outline by erecting a translucent polycarbonate enclosure along the property to separate it from the surrounding areas and making it float in the air. The floating enclose creates separation, but since it floats, the house itself is still connected to the surrounding environment.

Therefore, when looking for a new space for their offices, they were very clear about the requirements that the space had to meet. The first one is purely functional. It had to be a large space in which they could accommodate a vast coworking space, in addition to having different closed areas for recordings. This large space should also have a unique character in order to convey the firm’s strong personality.
