We wanted an architecture without superfluous, but that welcomed the essential with extreme sophistication. We found in art the ideal way to establish dialogue with the neighborhood and express our opinion. The artist Heloísa Crocco filled the concrete lines with her work of topomorphic alphabet, present in the brises and the first floor panel. Her language full of codes and symbolisms establishes a bridge between the ancestral and the contemporary. The result is a lively and dynamic façade, on the border between interior and exterior, and between architecture and art.

The venue is located in the central Kyiv, in the basement of the building erected in the early XX century. The low ceiling was one of the main challenges of the project. Designers decided not to make it lower, but arrange the air-conditioning system inside the pipes with quite a small diameter under the ceiling. Cone lamps above tables were made from the same kind of pipes. The restaurant consists of two halls with a bar counter in each of them. Visitors can observe a cooking process in the open kitchen.

Westerschans 1A is the first phase of the new residential, work, and leisure area on the edge of central Goes. The Westerschans area directly borders the historic city centre, the ring-road, and the water of the Havenkanaal. Westerschans 1A is part of the urban development plan that Jeanne Dekkers Architectuur and ZOETMULDER designed for the entire Westerschans area.
