Darrous Building / Hamedart

Every project in architecture faces challenges that achieving the answer will create a specific scenario for that building. One of the features of this projects site is its small width, which made limitations in interior design (plan) and exterior (facade). On the other hand, its 2 corners allow better lighting for the building. The project is located in Amirabad neighborhood of Tehran; the entrance is from the southern and western sides. This complex has been developed in 5 floors.

Yoglar is a new school for early music and piano education located in a 1950s’ residential area in Burgos (Spain), where our client wanted to create “a home for the music”. Our aim was to design a place both unique and functional, which could foster children’s creativity while achieving clear results in their music development from 0 to 12 years. The site, an old garage located in the ground floor of an old housing block, owes its singular shape to 2 projects from the beginning of the 1950s.

Sports, Reacreation and Cultural Center of Parque Metropolitano El Tunal / FP Arquitectura

The building is a large urban pavilion located in the metropolitan park El Tunal, which contains cultural, sports and recreational uses, and mainly serves the vulnerable population in the south of the city of Bogotá. Its outstanding horizontality allows for a building front on the western side of the park and serves as a doorway between the urban context and the wide, natural space of the park. For public use, its architecture is open, diaphanous, and clear, making transparency and permeability its greatest spatial qualities.

Vresthena Residential Extension / Spyros Tzinieris Architects

At Vresthena village, Laconia, a settlement at mountain rage of Parnonas, 800 m. elevation, the building interventions of the 1960-1980 era- usually without any notable architectural characteristics- constitute the functional and morphological continuity of the older stone buildings. However, the modern interventions should be consistent with their integration in the new requirements, usages, and forms of the settlement, without mimetic sentiment which would reproduce characteristics that don’t give prominence to that particular location and its qualities.
