The design intent revolves around the crisp and clear lines used throughout the house in the elevation and interior spaces . The ethnic theme used throughout the house is evident in the cota stone used for flooring to the mud texture, the colors used in the partition, light fixtures and metal used in handrails and partitions ,the wood used in ceiling and handrails.

This story begins around the fin-de-siecle, when Jim Murtha, an Irish immigrant, partnered up with Frank Monahan to start a sheep operation at what would become known as the Murtha Ranch. The conditions of the terrain being a corner and its orientation were the guidelines to define the spacial and constructive strategy of the house. The local regulations establishes a remission of the corner to leave it construction free almost the same size as the one in the back side of the plot. As well they require a service hall. This reduced significantly the constructive area, forcing to concentrate the house in the center of the plot.
