Brazilian firm Reinach Mendonça Architects Associados has added a geometric concrete pavilion to a family home in São Paulo, offering a place for reading and entertaining. PK Residence Annex is built on the property of a residence in the Brazilian city, which is complete with a separate concrete volume attached to a garage for barbequing.

The image on the Nossa Senhora do Pilar Church ceiling, the main church in Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais, had a great impact and remained in the mind of the teenager that, for the first time, entered into the temple built in the 18th century, mainly because the lamb and the cross portrayed inverted their position as one walk to the back of the church nave. Almost two decades later, the architect Samuel Kruchin went back to Ouro Preto to present a work, and returned to the church to try to understand how that could happen. During the visit, he transferred to the paper the geometry that caused that sensation.

The clients had defined: the house would have a great central yard and it would develop itself around it. A wide lot, around 1.200m², was acquired and, for our luck, we were responsible to materialize this project. Admirers of the exposed concrete, landscape and nature in general, we soon realized that we would have the support to all of our ideas that would result in an increase of the sustainability aspect of the project.
