Garden Wall House #2 / U.L.A. design

January 14, 2021 Pilar Caballero 0

This home is built on sloping land in Yokohama City in which a couple and their three children live in. The house is surrounded by the huge backside wall that is more than 6 meters high. Therefore, we decided to give up the wall side. Instead of that, by integrating budget and constructive elements on the southeast side, we suggested a house having both privacy and nice view or lighting, and good balance and relationship between the inside and the outside of the house.

MIA’s Office / MIA architecture

December 7, 2020 Pilar Caballero 0

The project consists of the construction of a volume intended to house the spaces of an architect’s office, a meeting room, and technical premises. The volume is implanted in the extension of an existing house built in the 70s in a heavily wooded environment, from which it takes the architectural language for the base (painted bricks, masonry heads, height). Placed on this base, we find the “mirror box” that houses the professional functions. This volume is covered with mirrored skin in order to “disappear” in its environment.
