The complex is one of the two main sites for the production of professional coffee machines for Astoria, the historical brand of the Italian coffee machine culture, and the world’s third professional coffee machines manufacturer for production amount. The MCE company, that belongs entirely to the Astoria Group, began its manufacturing activities in Timisoara at the end of 2002. With the construction of the new plant, the production has strongly increased its production capacity. The design by Heim Balp Architekten meets the main client’s request for a new layout, so as to increase the daily production and provide a younger and more progressive attitude to the whole company image.

Evoking dynamics
There is nothing static about the aura of the KTM motorcycle brand. This can also be clearly seen in their motto “Ready to Race”. That is exactly the feeling you get at the KTM Motohall, which opened in Spring 2019 at their headquarters in Mattighofen. Everything about the building is linked to and evocative of motion. It is a lofty space of 8,300 m2 with no steps. It takes you over three levels, with a showroom, an event hall, a restaurant, a shop, a snack bar, and its own orbital paths. It is an exciting new building, wrapped in curved metal bands that transcend the right angles of its surroundings.

“Culinary Origin,” the new brand invented by the leading Chinese kitchen appliance company “Robam.” Founded in Hangzhou in 1979, Robam initiated kitchen appliance solutions from the range hoods, and gradually expanded to the ovens, steam ovens, microwave ovens, etc. Robam has been dedicated for years to offering the advanced technology and high-quality products that firmly connect the Chinese families and kitchens. Recently, Robam has been focusing on improving the cooking environments and creating a better life of food culture.

A manufactured landscape*, an organic architecture created by the trace of the search for raw materials, which brings us back to the origin from which the raw materials come.

Returning to Simplicity
The beauty of Wabi-sabi, while moderate, modest and pure, also expresses vitality. The designers of this project pursued the simple beauty of nature, which is fitting in its own right, ultimately returning to simplicity after careful revision.

The design of the Vibia’s showroom inside its new headquarters in Gavà, Barcelona, features a series of ideas which we have evolved after several collaborations with the company.The aim was to create a place that, on the one hand, recalls its corporate image in the last trade fairs, and on the other hand, dialogues in a poetic and balanced way with different departments.

For this studios and showroom project, the architects rehabilitated and refurbished the building to create minimalist, uniformly white interior spaces, adapted to the design firm’s uses and serving as the backdrop for the creator’s complex and colorful universe. The project is an integral part of the context of the “Fabriqué à Paris” label (Made in Paris) whose goal is to develop an “artisans’ hotel” fostering shorter and more integrated supply channels and local production.
