Following the completion of the ground floor house, and the broader research, reground Porto, oitoo was commissioned with yet another opportunity to reuse and repurpose an unused ground floor space.
The apartment is designed for two people as a unique space with an embedded bedroom – this method is unique and consists of forming a new text inside the phrase we are used to.
The interconnected nature of buildings’ design, construction and application is the key of improving building quality. Halles 1&2, the last site to be redeveloped within the Ile de Nantes industrial complex, is part of a district already defined by the site plan created by architect Franklin Azzi. Emblematic of the building’s industrial history, the metal framework, a reminder of its original function, has been preserved.
Located in Vila Mariana, São Paulo, the townhouse had already undergone some recent transformations. In addition to the joining of two semi-detached houses to fulfill a home-studio program for a young artist, the previous renovation included structural reinforcements and improvements to the kitchen, bathrooms and laundry room.
“A Hamlet within the urban village” is TAO’s first urban renewal project in Nantou Ancient Town, Shenzhen. This is an urban cluster that originally consisted of multiple buildings with different property rights of the land. Part of it was preserved and partly demolished and renovated to form a new composite urban community. It is both a building and a miniature urban village. An open-ended concrete structure integrates all the old and new elements of the site, making it a stage for the lively and ever-changing life here.

The project starts with the need to connect two adjacent houses. These are two urban properties located in one of the expansion areas of the city of Terrassa, dating from the late 19th century and the first half of the 20th century. The plots have a practically rectangular geometry, except for the inclined back lintel of the plot, and they are southeast-facing along the long side.
