February 26, 2024 Valeria Silva 0

The origins of the project. The project is located in the core area of the old town of Pengzhou city, with a millennium-old temple: Longxing Temple, and a lot of historic old streets. This area is bustling with various restaurants, and teahouses, which are lining up one after another, form the most identifiable urban area in Pengzhou. However, the general conditions here are quite dilapidated, with many low-rise buildings mainly built in the 1970s and 1980s. The north of Longxing Temple there were lots of factories, most of which had already ceased production. Since 2019, the government has decided to invest in and guide the renovation of this area, in which the main functions involve commerce, culture, hotels, and residences.

The project involves the rehabilitation and renovation of a house located in València, in a resilient area such as the orchard. (L’Horta) The building object of this rehabilitation dates from the late nineteenth century, although there are elements that are part of the set that is declared BRL ( Bienes de Relevancia Local – assets of local relevance), which are from the thirteenth century. If there is something characteristic of this house, at least in its facades and most visible elements from the orchard is that its walls are built with exposed stone, it has a distinct character from the rest of the complex, and that has been preserved from the beginning of our project.

The House of Trusses was the result of a renovation in a small country residence in the interior of São Paulo with a very lean budget. The main demands of the clients were a more open and fluid space and the desire to have 3 suites in the house – originally there were 3 bedrooms, but only one suite. The original plan already split the program into two distinct volumes separated by the entrance hall and an internal courtyard. On one side, the common areas and on the other, the bedrooms.

Xujiahui Sports Park, formerly known as the Shanghai Sports Center, was planned in the 1960s. Over nearly half a century, buildings such as Shanghai Indoor Stadium (1973), Shanghai Swimming Center (1983), Shanghai Stadium, and East Asia Tower (1997) have been successively constructed to host top-level sports events over the years. They reflect significant memories of the sports development in Shanghai and even China, becoming an undeniable landmark of Shanghai’s sports culture. The vision of the project is to transform this area into a new, open, and vibrant urban space.
