Olbos Studio completes the first part of a late 1800s Bed-Stuy townhouse renovation for a cosmopolitan couple. The traditional grungy bricks become the backdrop for this surprisingly colorful yet elegant interior project, where the conversation between the clients – a lawyer from Singapore with a passion for tattoos and a strategist from Hong Kong with a background in fine arts – and the Italian designer led to a playful space that brings joy and serenity at once.

Despatx¹; This is how this space is recognized, conceived to take full advantage of life beyond architectural practice, in which architects, their collaborators, clients and friends, find a synthesis of the experience contained in the works that are conceived in this framework and the relationship they establish with their context.

At the first meeting, we were impressed with the client’s extraordinary intelligence. Working in the financial industry, he studied a lot in advance about multi-family housing and architecture. For the client living in a high-rise apartment with a panoramic view overlooking the city, the most important thing was a sense of openness and privacy. He loved music and wanted a small space where he could enjoy it. His wife enjoys little parties with acquaintances, and dreams of a rooftop space with a deluxe kitchen that can support these parties.

HAKUHODO HEAD OFFICE ENTRANCE is an interior design project for the entrance (reception area, lounge area, and meeting area) of the offices of Hakuhodo, a leading advertising agency in Japan. This area, which includes the reception that serves as the face of the company, was planned as a space where events for internal and external use can be held and where not only employees but also business partners and collaborators can work and meet.

Permaculture began in the 70s. It is a system of agricultural design principles based on the patterns and characteristics of the natural ecosystem. The word permaculture comes from the English contraction of the words permanent and culture to refer to agriculture as sustainable permanent processes. We can live without taking photos and uploading them to the network, but we cannot stop eating every day. Agriculture shapes and has shaped our landscapes and societies, and in the case of the Retiro da Costiña project, it shapes how the implementation of the temporary stay modules on the plot has been organized.

In response to a long and ongoing creative collaboration between Swedish design and architecture office Specific Generic and Norwegian jewelry brand Tom Wood, the brand opened its newly refurbished flagship store in Oslo. In this minimalistic space, Tom Wood’s visionary approach to contemporary jewelry finds new expressions, echoing a shared commitment to sustainable solutions and brutal design.
