Community

The building is a new typology for community-based urban development that includes diverse social and affordable housing programs. The porous, pedestrian-oriented urban Campus features a public plaza and a series of courtyards that unify various social services as well as cultural and institutional programs, all located directly across the street from another Center facility, The Village at Ed Gould Plaza. The result is a new, integrated platform for living as an intergenerational LGBTQ community.

A new community building for Lower Hutt’s busy Riddiford Garden.  The pavilion features two full-accessible public toilets and a kiosk. It also cleverly disguises an old electricity substation.

This community center provides spaces under a large continuous folding roof for events, performances, shops and play. Completed in February 2019, this 1,300 square metre building will act as a local gathering place for chance encounters, leisure and community engagements for those who live in and around the neighbourhood. Called the Buzz.ar, the project was commissioned by a local developer who requested for a ‘place-making’ intervention that will form part of the new mass housing and commercial quarter that it is developing in Kota Kemuning, a township about 20 kilometres to the southwest of Kuala Lumpur.

The relationship between China and Taiwan has been a controversial one since Taiwan gained its independence from mainland China in 1949 as a result of a civil war. However, since that point in time, there have been differing views on the island’s status and its relationship with the People’s Republic of China.
