dis_local gives rise to a series of pavilions and landscape interventions in río turbio valley

The Turbio is a river of ashes, a grayish river. Its skin is dusty and granular. On its walls, layers upon layers of mineral sediments can be seen. Clay and quartz. Calcite and feldspars. Pleistocene crusts. Inside, it is an arid canyon. A carved gully, where the visible water forms thin currents. Waters with little flow, calm and constant, which occasionally assert their existence with bursts of strength. Beneath this apparent tranquility, another river hides underground. Turbio conceals its vital signs like a dormant monster.
