In 1954, the city of São Paulo received what would become one of its most celebrated postcards: the Ibirapuera Park. Designed by Oscar Niemeyer, the urban park, an icon of modern architecture, has established itself as one of the most popular destinations in the city, as well as the epicenter of the development of the surrounding neighborhood. After 68 years of this landmark’s creation, the global studio Perkins&Will updates the architectural parameters of the region with Oscar Ibirapuera, one of the most impressive residential projects in the high-end São Paulo market, with a permanent view of the city’s most exuberant green area.

Located on a rocky outcrop, jutting out into the North Atlantic, the Jubilee Pool is the largest of only five surviving sea water lidos in the UK, and an important part of the built and social fabric of Penzance. The triangular-shaped pool had fallen into a state of disrepair over the years and it was regularly under threat of closure, which would have been devastating for the local community as the pool represents a huge amount of pride in the town.

The two-story office extension is located in the backyard of a turn-of-the-century building near the Isar River in the Au district of Munich. The continuing demand for new space in Munich is increasing the pressure on existing buildings in particular. The potential for densification, by means of roof extensions and stories, is either already almost exhausted or limited by the authorities. In the search for further densification, the basement floors are increasingly coming into focus. In London, this trend has been evident for decades.
